The Queens Hotel Harlech

Yes the stairs, the top three in particular are steep but as a staff member carried our suitcase up it wasn't a problem and there are handrails to help. Ask for a room on the ground floor if you see the stairs as a problem. A staff member carried our suitcase up and they are always happy to help wherever they can. The hotel has the Harlech railway to the rear and a road to the front so it can be noisy if, as it was for our stay, the weather was extremely hot and the double glazed bedroom windows needed to be open at night.

Our hosts were great, and we added a side trip to one of our next days that we would have missed out on if it weren't for their recommendation. They took great care of us and the other guests. It is clear that the dining and bar area are popular with the local families, as well as the guests, and everyone seemed pleased. As I am edgy about stairs in general, the fact that the flight of stairs included a spiral of narrow treads at the top was tough for me. Everything else about the hotel was lovely.

Convenient for tourist attractions. Close to rail station. Lovely hosts. Nothing too much trouble. Super meals and ales. Nothing of note

Nice, quiet, clean room, friendly staff

The location was within walking distance of Harlech Castle, which was the reason for our visit. All the staff were friendly and helpful from check-in to check-out. The wait staff and kitchen staff were knowledgeable about Celiac disease, and were very careful with the food preparation to accommodate our needs. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel, and I would certainly stay there again if visiting the area. Really cannot think of anything negative to say or even areas to improve.

The staff were all very welcoming and flexible, allowing me and my friend to show up much later than the latest check in time (since our train was late). We both felt welcome there and were glad to have somewhere warm to stay for the night. The facilities were great, and the staff served us a wonderful breakfast in the morning as well.

Proximity to the castle. Pillows were nice. Snacks were provided in room. A bit impersonal. Tried to make arrangements to leave my bag with the hotel so I could hike up the hill but the owner just couldn’t be bothered. I also got up too late for breakfast which was only served for an hour on Sunday morning.

Love the little extras in the room. Great pub. Great food. Good beer selection and all very reasonable price. Highly recommend staying there.

Rachel and Liam were great. The dinner was excellent. Nice shower and room.

Nice property with a restaurant and bar. Although it sits on top of a bar and next to the railroad, it was not loud and no disruption to sleep. The host provided a mask and ear plugs - but they were not needed. Mattress too firm.

Owners are extremely nice and helpful. They went out of their way to make sure our stay was enjoyable. Room was comfortable. Restaurant provided very good dinner and breakfast. Location was on the main road. There are somewhat small winding stairs up to the first floor. However the owner was very gracious to help us with our luggage.

Fantastic hospitality, amazing beer garden, and the beds were very comfortable. Best place to stay if you're in Harlech.
