The village inn has always had such a cozy at home feel.Very peaceful with great staff and excellent food I was sad to see the hot tub was not up and running

This place is not like a typical hotel with multiple floors, it is homely and units are side by side . The property is clean and maintained well. Staff is super helpful and it maintains a historic significance.
-
The bed was one of the most comfortable hotel beds! It was quiet and well maintained.

Very clean and property very relaxing

I am still shocked at how highly this motel is rated! Moving in our daughter to JMU and booked here as it’s close and has great reviews … beds were awful, pillows thin, pool area dirty and could not imagine jumping in, hot tub not working, lounge chairs rusty and broken, rugs stained, used Clorox wipes to wipe downs tub before we showered it was that unclean looking, sheets were clean but stained, musty smell when entering the room - never again!

Such a cute little place that we only used as a stop over but wish we could’ve stayed longer! Great staff to welcome us and share will go information… Nice rooms with small balcony. Looked like a great pool, and hope to go back someday to use it! We were not able to utilize the restaurant, but it would have been convenient if our timing was better.

The rooms were large, the pool was nice. Umbrella at the pool was broken and the carpets needed to be cleaned. The tub needed a mat it was very slippery.

This place is a hidden gem. Incredibly clean and quiet. Friendly staff. Room showed a little age, but was still meticulously maintained and was decorated nicely. Everything worked as intended, including the jetted tub. Highly recommend this property.

The room was clean and comfortable.

The breakfast buffet was excellent, but your advertising is a bit misleading it sounds as though breakfast is included for guest as a perk and not an extra charge! Wet towels from the previous guests were found on the balcony on our first night’s stay on July 11th. That was the only thing that was a bit disappointing. Everything else was great!

Mattress was completely broken down.

I booked a room here based on the reviews. It looked very charming and I was excited to have a little romantic getaway with my husband. Unfortunately, I did not have a good experience. There were crumbs on the floor and long hairs on the chair in our room so I asked the man at the desk to please have them vacuum our room while we were out to dinner. When we got back a couple hours later they came to vacuum. I had hoped they would take care of that while we were out but decided to just leave the room and check out the pool. The chairs around the pool were really old and I would say unsafe. The water was greenish and there was debris in the pool and hotub. So swimming wasn't an option so we went back to the room to relax. When I checked the beds, which I should have done when I got there, there were stains on the sheets and hair and dirt in the bed. They also didn't use a fitted sheet they just had a top sheet thrown over the mattress cover which was also stained. That was when I decided to.check out and drive and hour and a half back home to sleep in my own bed. I didn't expect a refund and of course didn't get one but I did expect them to be more apologetic. I just got excuses. I am beyond disappointed.

everything was fine, but the room did smell like mold; especially when the ac was on / was stuffed up in the am .

We absolutely love this cute little place. The rooms are large and comfortable, pool is lovely, and the entire property is so pretty and unique. We really enjoy the large balconies, which are more like a deck.
-
The Rooms were clean and comfortable, however, one of the reasons we chose this place was a restaurant was in the description of the amenities. Unfortunately the fact that the restaurant was only open for dinner on the weekends. There were no other options in the area.

The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable. Overall, this was a great place to stay and walkable to the fairgrounds. We will definitely stay again at this very charming hotel!
-
This little site was so cute and unique! It was located right across the street from the Rockingham County Fair and was close to many other attractions. It had an old-fashioned, simple, and authentic charm that you just don’t find anymore. The staff was accommodating and friendly, and everything we needed was available. Overall, such a charming little place and a great stay!
