The Goodwin Hotel

Room was nice, only downside was the elevator was down. We had our wedding here and it was nice to be able to stay in the same location. Staff were great, very friendly and helpful.

Property was clean and the staff was helpful.

The Goodwin is a shell of its former self. Bar is not open on Sundays or Mondays, breakfast was worse than a Comfort Inn. Zero amenities. The Valet staff was wonderful. The rest of the staff was next to useless. Asked for 1 hour late check out and was just summarily told no.

Great stay!

Our main issue was that suite didn’t have bedding for the sofabed, so we had to call down for it. It took nearly 30 minutes to receive, which was a significant inconvenience when we were trying to go to bed. Note also that the suite does not have a door separating the bedroom and sitting area. The included continental breakfast had no protein options offered, so we had to go out for breakfast.

The hotel is unique and very well decorated, the staff was pleasant and helpful, and the location is within walking distance to restaurants and entertainment. The reason for a lower star rating is the room was very warm despite having the air turned as cool as possible our room was 78 degree’s and the continental breakfast was extremely sub par especially considering the price of the hotel. There was a waffle maker, packets of oatmeal, yogurt and some fresh fruit (apples & clementines).

Beautiful, impeccably clean, and very friendly staff. We will definitely stay there each time we visit Hartford.

Hotel was way overpriced. We paid $300 for a $100 room. The bar and restaurant were closed. The complimentary breakfast was in parity to what you paid for.

We like staying at the goodwin. Its a luxury hotel within a good distance to UConn if we visit the school . Better than the local hotel at Storrs and worth the cost unlike the prices at Storrs. This is our go to place to stay when events at UConn make the rooms outrageous. Also pet Friendly. Staff are very attentive and friendly. Nothing

The reason for my poor review is that my daughter left her iPods in the room, and we soon discovered through FindMy that they were taken to a nearby address in Hartford. They were never removed from the room by us, so they were certainly removed by someone at the hotel. I reported this via phone to staff members, who assured I’d be called back, and I wasn’t. Then I tried sending a message through their website and got no response. I am really disappointed by this level of customer service in what otherwise seemed to be a nice hotel. It’s shocking to me that no one would even follow up, even if just to apologize.

I got lost looking for the entrance coming from the back side through Goodwin Square; maybe clear signage at that end will be helpful for others. Overall very nice, and clean with hotel. I would definitely stay again.

They put us in a "deluxe" room with an interior window overlooking – wait for it – a ridiculously loud and obnoxious wedding that blared live music until after 11pm. When we for obvious reasons complained they put us in another room, so we had to spend over an hour of our last evening in Hartford packing and moving into different accommodations with two double beds instead of the King we had booked. (Despite having to be on the road for an 8 hour drive the next day.) Protips to guests: Under no circumstances should you agree to have one of these horrible interior rooms that overlooks their event space. ASK THEM, because for some reason they don't disclose this either on their site when you book or in person when you check in. They prefer to pretend it's not a massive problem and make you complain first. To the Goodwin: Stop putting people in these rooms on nights when there is an event. It's a known issue which you refuse to be transparent about with your guests, which is not only utterly insane, but disrespectful in the extreme. Do better. We hope the hotel chooses to make this right as soon as possible. For the egregious price we paid for the room, this is completely unacceptable on any level. Be warned.

We would stay here again we absolutely loved the decor. It was modern funky and grand. We love the bar downstairs with the adorable DJ. She was amazing. I don’t know her name, but we love the music and her vibe. Great location, great price, comfortable bed, clean room.

The room we were in only had one small window

Hotel room fridge was not cleaned out and a previous guests leftovers were still in it. I was told someone from management would call me to discuss but nobody did. The mattress in the room is old and outdated and did not measure up to my expectation for this type of hotel.

staff wasn’t at the desk upon arrival just a sign that they would be right back which was a 15 min wait. The bed mattress was lumpy and uneven.
