Hyatt House Herndon/Reston

The property was clean, just dated. My room was clean, but had a bad smell. We wanted something with an outdoor pool, close to the airport. The pool/patio area was nice and the staff was super pleasant and helpful.

The A/C in the room was extremely noisy, the curtains didn't close really well, the bathroom entrance was right next to the bed, so if someone was getting up earlier the lights from the bathroom bothered the person who was still sleeping. For the three days that we were there, one of the two elevators was out of order and nobody was seen working on it, the carpet in the lobby was stained, and the entertainment in the lobby was conflicting with the entertainment in the bar/breakfast area (two different music and TV on at the same time). Staff were very helpful, breakfast was decent and the room itself was clean. The location was convenient to us and there was parking always available.

Clean room with full kitchen. Perfect for frequent travelers that want to cook for themselves instead of eating out. Appreciated the free parking too as other nearby hotels are starting to charge for that. Would stay here again.

Nothing I had a bad experience. I have pictures and videos. My lights didn't work, the toilet water was low, the doors were broken, the room was not cleaned and dusty all over the walls. I spoke with the night guy, I was advised to get another room in the AM. Only to be told by the manager that I couldn't and they tried fixing the doors to only mess up later. I was over charged for the two nights and asked can i be reimbursed only to be disappointed.

Exploring the area before check-in or after check-out is stress-free, as the hotel happily stores your luggage for free—just let them know in advance. The rooms are very welcoming and comfortable. The bed was extra soft, offering a fantastic night's sleep. While a few cosmetic updates could freshen things up here and there, it’s a minor detail in an otherwise great space. The breakfast selection is amazing, featuring a wide variety of delicious options to kick off the morning right. While the property does not offer a direct airport shuttle, their local area shuttle service is a fantastic perk. Located just a four-minute drive from the Herndon Metro station, the hotel will happily come and pick you up if you call during their designated shuttle hours. I didn’t expect much since it was cheaper hotel, but with the Hyatt name I expected better than usual. Eh. We got the two bedroom suite. The beds were decent but old. And weirdly, the counters are all much lower than we are used to. Hard to wash your face. But again, you can’t get a two bedroom suite around here for this price. Breakfast was good. Parking free and plentiful. Pool was ok. So why the one star review? 1. To get a hot shower, you have to turn it all the way to the hot side and you lose water pressure in the process. So either a strong lukewarm shower or a soft hot shower. 2. Bedrooms have cheap french doors that swing inward to the bedrooms but don’t close all the way with a gap in between. No privacy. No noise reduction. 3. Half the lights in the room didn’t work. This is just cheap maintenance not being done. Which makes me question the maintenance in general. 4. Three TVs - 2 didn’t work. Cable only, no smart TV log in for any streaming services. 5. My husband is allergic to animal dander and I am allergic to mold. Both our allergies were bad the whole time. Wouldn’t take much to be a better hotel.
