Star Beach Village and Water Park

The food was excellent, rich variety and genuinely tasty. Plenty of facilities for the whole family. Housekeeping and cleanliness were poor. We found ants and insects in the room, and one time the room wasn’t cleaned properly at all. When we asked staff to redo it, we were told it had already been cleaned and nothing more was done. Reception staff were unfriendly and unhelpful. Also, there’s an open road running through the middle of the resort that guests must cross to reach the water park, which felt unsafe with young children, and an adult party area is located inside the water park itself so you have to walk through it to reach the slides.

Хочу сказать отдельное спасибо Giorgos на рисепшен. Он очень чуткий, терпеливый и внимательный сотрудник. Он нам очень помог. Обмен и выдача полотенец для бассейнов только в одном месте на всю огромную территорию и очень ограниченное время. Наша комната находилась в отдельном здании за территорией гостиницы. Ходить в жаркую погоду и переходить улицы было наказанием.

We liked a lot the quality of water, big variety of water activities, not overcrowded and very comfortable. A lot of food options, fits everybody needs and very clean and beautiful gardens around. Nothing, everything was great.

There is pratically no AC!!! No AC in the lobby nor in the resturants. The AC in the room was horrible even after the repair guy "fixed" something. We stayed at the supirior apparment which was spacius but was built by brain dead. Beds were not comfortable. Food was very mediocre at best. Creteioan Star? You can totaly skip it, 95% the same as Main restorant just fewer options. Asaian Star was nice but again build horribly ( one line buffet!!!!!!)

The only good things were the view, the restaurant, and the waiters. The hotel has far too many stairs, making it very uncomfortable for families with strollers and for elderly guests. The reception staff were not helpful and showed very little willingness to assist. The property is advertised on Booking as having an elevator, but the elevator is only in the reception building. The accommodation buildings themselves have no elevator, so guests still have to carry luggage, strollers, or anything else up and down many stairs. This information should be made clear before booking.

Food was great but more options for restaurants will be nice. Make beds/mattresses more comfortable.

The activites for the childrens .

Location is nice, green area with good multiple facilities for families, great food choice- especially breakfast! Paradise for kids with water slides and entertainment facilities The main issues were related to service quality, organization, and room condition. The reservation team responded too late to an early check-in request, and the room was not ready even at standard check-in time, causing unnecessary waiting. Staff training appears insufficient - we were given incorrect instructions about where to collect towels and were initially refused service in a rude manner, only to resolve the issue quickly at reception. Housekeeping was also below expectations, with missing and empty bathroom amenities and long delays (45 minutes) in delivering requested items. In addition, the room itself showed signs of poor maintenance: some furniture was worn, textiles had visible stains, the duvet was stained, and there was noticeable dust on various surfaces. Finally, internal communication between staff was unprofessional, as demonstrated by an inappropriate phone call on the day of departure. Cold pools

The location is very good. The food was poor and not very well prepared especially the meat. The room wasnt clean and it seems that they clean it very basic between each visitors. I had issue with ants in the toilets and the toilet sit was leaking water. The weather and the water in the park/swiming pool was very cold.

We booked a Superior room at Star Beach Hotel, but upon arrival were given a downgraded room ( standard room) located right by the parking lot and next to the main road– far from what we had reserved. When we raised the issue with the hotel staff, they refused to move us to the room we had booked , because the hotel was full according to their claim . Instead, they offered us to leave the hotel and receive a full refund. After two unpleasant nights (out of a planned four), we found another hotel an checked out early with written confirmation from the hotel manager promising a *full refund*. Since the booking was made through *Booking.com*, the hotel informed us that the refund would be processed via Booking. However, despite countless emails, calls, and app messages, the issue remains unresolved. Booking.com claims the hotel is not responding to their inquiries, and therefore they are doing nothing to refund us. This experience has been extremely frustrating, both due to the hotel’s treatment and Booking.com's lack of support. We expected a professional service – instead we received poor treatment and are still waiting for our money.Not recommended.

Slides can be dangerous for big people, I got hit a few times, but nothing serious.

Owners are on any issue that comes up and really help enjoy your vacation. Excellent for for our family, took up the 4 units and used the pool and dining area near the pool. Location is great, very quiet but walking distance to some good beaches and short drives to Chania and further beaches. It was really perfect.

The reception service and approach wasn't always pleasant, didn't feel they want to listen and find a solution

Room 4012 had a terrible smell. A technician came three times but didn’t fix the problem. In the end, we were forced to spend the night in that stinky room until they finally moved us to another one — and even that was on the third floor with no elevator. Honestly, the rooms are awful.

Our stay at Star Beach Village & Water Park was overall okay, but there were several areas that could be improved to enhance the guest experience: 1. Restaurant Comfort – During the summer, the restaurant keeps its windows open, and unfortunately, the air conditioning was not effective. This made dining uncomfortable, especially during hot days. 2. Pool Size – The pool area felt quite small and crowded, especially considering the size of the hotel and number of guests. 3. Limited Facilities – The hotel seemed to lack some facilities and amenities that would typically be expected in a resort of this scale. 4. Room Cleanliness – The room floor was not as clean as we had hoped. It gave the impression of an older hotel in need of better upkeep. I hope the management takes this feedback into account to improve the overall guest experience.
