Listening to the birds and the ocean while relaxing in our private outdoor onsen felt like a complete reset from the stress and exhaustion of traveling. The breakfast and dinner were excellent every day, with constantly changing menus focused on fresh local fish and regional specialties. It was always exciting to discover what would be served next. The staff were also amazing — incredibly kind, attentive, and thoughtful. They even prepared delicious cake for us to take on a hiking trip, which was such a lovely gesture. This entire experience is now at the very top of my list when it comes to relaxing spa-like retreats, and I cannot recommend it enough for anyone looking to disconnect, recharge, and experience a more peaceful side of Japan.

Beautiful views, lovely onsens and amazing experience Such friendly staff, amazing food and great service

The property was beautiful, the staff was great and the view was great! We had the pre-fix dinner which was a great experience! The room was spacious and beautiful! The bed was pretty hard but that seems to be the way it is in Japan for the most part.

If you want sightseeing i recommend visit next station Izo kogen.

The two large onsen spas were EXCELLENT. I love the system that they had where if you lock the door, you can have the spa all to yourself and your family. The dinner, though you have to order separately, was one of THE BEST. Breakfast was also EXCELLENT. Isaribi is one of the top three onsen hotels I've ever stayed and I can't count how many onsen I've visited in my entire life. Internet connection felt slow but if you have 5G or a portable wifi, it would not bother you.

We loved everything! From the moment we walked into to when we left, the staff were so kind, friendly, and hospitable. Our room was amazing with the individual insensitive and very spacious. The bed was very comfortable and big. We also loved the 24/7 bigger private onsens in the bottom and got to use that in the middle of the night when we had our jet lag. Lastly, breakfast was amazing. Presentation was beautiful and everything tasted delicious! Would definitely come back again! Everything was amazing!

Exceptional food and service & would love to return one day.

We love the private Onsen and the beautiful view facing the ocean. We enjoyed the beautiful sunrise during we stayed. Nothing really needs to complain but it will be nice to provide a little bit more time for dinner.

Great check in experience, room was beautiful and clean. The onsen’s were really nice too. For the price per night you would think dinner would be included (like other ryokans I’ve stayed at in the same area at the same price point). I felt the extra $80/person add-on dinner was just ok, there were a lot of dishes that I felt seemed like fillers. The futon beds are really comfortable but keep in mind that they set it up after dinner and break it down before breakfast. So if you want to lay down and rest before dinner or after breakfast, you won’t have a bed to lay in. Was a bit cumbersome to lay on the ground.

They were truly accommodating and informative. Went above and beyond to allow us to make it for dinner even though weather made driving there difficult.

What can I say, an extrodinary experience. My wife and I started our 8-day honeymoon trip here, and that two nights' stay at Isaribi was the most peaceful and wonderful time at Japan. The location is 8 min's walk from Izu-Okawa station, which is one stop from Izu-Kogen station. Hotel provides shuttle service during daytime. Not many rooms, most of the time you feel like you own the whole place. Decoration, service, onsen, meal, nothing to complain about, 10/10 from my wife`s review. If I really really had to pick on something, the atmosphere is too quiet that you can hear the sound of footstep in the hotel, but considering the wooden structure, I guess that's the cost if you prefer the authentic Japanese decoration. If you had sleep disorde by any chance, think twice.

After spending lots of time in the city, it was refreshing to find ourselves in this remote part of Japan. All the staff at Isaribi were incredibly friendly and welcoming and made it their mission to have us be as relaxed as possible. The private onsen was a real treat and we especially enjoyed the outdoor hot spring and the in-room hot tub. I'm not sure I've ever experienced a stay that left me so relaxed! The food was delicious and plentiful and was served to us by the staff each morning/night. Our Kaiseki dinner was probably my favorite meal of our 10 days in Japan. I found the bed comfortable and slept well. It was a bit stormy while we were there and I just loved opening the window and watching the sea/listening to the storms. If you are up for some hiking there are some beautiful coastal hikes nearby if you take the train a couple of stops north (hikes: Jogasaki coast, Tajima Falls). I found myself missing having somewhere to lie down during the day since the futon is generally packed up during the day. (you can easily unpack it and use it, but just have to set it up). Considering we are more in the countryside, I was impressed with the staffs' English although at times, we relied on Google Translate. I don't mind this, but others might.
