Riff Hikkaduwa

We got an upgrade to the design suite, which has an amazing view of the beach. The bathtub was very nice and the suite very luxurious. Good food and the spa is nice. They sometimes knock on the door quite late in the evening to bring extra water. We got the room with a big discount, otherwise it could be very expensive.

I would like to thank everyone who works there for making our stay so enjoyable. A special thank you to the lifeguard, who was amazing to talk to and had such positive energy. The rooms were very comfortable, and all of the people from Sri Lanka brought such great energy and hospitality. Thank you all for everything you made our experience truly memorable. I would happily recommend Riff to anyone looking for a relaxing and enjoyable stay. Just so many ants on the floor just need them to fix this but everything was amazing

RIFF was, without a doubt, the best hotel of my entire Sri Lanka trip. Having stayed in several hotels across the country, RIFF stood out in every possible way. The service was exceptional and genuinely comparable to that of a luxury 5-star hotel — something that is unfortunately quite rare to find in Sri Lanka. Every member of the team was attentive, professional, and truly cared about creating a memorable guest experience. The food was another highlight. Unlike many places that simply imitate international cuisine, RIFF delivers dishes that are genuinely delicious and thoughtfully prepared. The à la carte breakfast was outstanding, with an impressive variety of options, all beautifully presented and incredibly tasty. Every breakfast felt like a treat rather than just another hotel meal. The hotel itself is beautiful, peaceful, and perfectly designed for a relaxing getaway. Everything from the rooms to the facilities reflected great attention to detail. Overall, I had an incredibly pleasant stay and left wishing I had spent more time here. In fact, RIFF is the one place that would make me want to come back to Sri Lanka again. Thank you to the entire team for such a wonderful experience.

The location is excellent, with a beautiful beach and a fantastic pool area that is so well looked after by the team. The whole hotel is clean, comfortable and done out aesthetically- it looks exactly like it does in the marketing. The food was also excellent, and the Japanese restaurant upstairs was absolutely delicious. What really makes the hotel special, though, is the staff. Everyone was so friendly, attentive and welcoming. They work incredibly hard and it really shows. A special thank you to Raymond and Benisha for their hospitality and for making us feel so well looked after throughout our stay. It was also great to speak with the owner, Gamini. He was so warm and genuinely cared, and that personal touch helps create such a family feel around the hotel. This was exactly the reset we needed. I would highly recommend Riff Hikkaduwa and we cannot wait to visit again in the near future.

Location was great!. Beenu was amazing and sorted everything out for us in a timely and efficient manner! All staff were very polite. Unfortunately it wasn’t possible to swim in the ocean. Also, the lower floor rooms had some mosquitoes but the above floor rooms were great!

Beautiful and intimate, well maintained and clean. Lovely pool. Great design and attention to detail. Staff attention for ordering on beach area could be a bit more attentive.

The staff are all lovely, very professional and genuinely happy to help. Pool, food and view is stunning. Rooms are immaculate and want for nothing. Nothing really, the only minor thing I would say is that it can be a bit loud. As in if you are in your room, noise from corridors and sometimes other rooms is easy to hear.

Very cosy, simple but elegant property, with luxurious facilities. Excellent, delicious food, prepared to perfection and served with personal touch. Staff led by restaurant manager Benisha and her team was so special and always attentive, very courteous and professional. Overall, great experience, would recommend any day… Absolutely nothing.

the staff really looked after us. Special shout out to Bentia, who was excellent the outdoor dining area needs to be on solid ground. The stones were a little hard to move chairs aorund on and there is not much room for tables.

We spent 5 nights in the junior suite which was just perfect, very private and great access to the pool, beach and restaurant. The staff were excellent and the attention to detail with the presentation of the food was great.

The room was excellent. A beautifully designed space, with comfortable king bed and sea view. The staff were all friendly, conscientious, and went above and beyond to accommodate us, and our young 10 month old son. Both the restaurants had wonderful food that represented very good value for money. Nothing. Everything about this place exceeded our expectations. We would like to come back!
