Mountain Wave Hotel and Surfshop

A great start of the trip after driving a Tuktuk from Colombo. Great Location. Clean and tidy rooms. Legendary Sri Lankan Surf at your toes. The ‘Real White Noise’ of waves to enhance sleep. And to top it off, the staff are spot on.

Wonderful vibe, beautiful view and very friendly staff, guys smiling and always up for a joke. Always there to help, excellent food, location close to the wide beach, shops and good bars. The ratio of price and quality is excellent, what's more, we got more than what we saw on the Internet. WELL DONE, KEEP IT UP! ❤️

Good

Located right on the beach above a surf board rental shop and restaurant. Amazing stay with a huge bedroom and bathroom. The view from my view was obstructed, but you can still see the beach and ocean. Owner was helpful with the wifi and woke up early to let me check in (5 am). 2 nights was enough to see and do everything. I pre-arranged transportation from the airport because I was landed in Colombo at 2 am. They forgot, so I had to take an uber. Wifi is spotty sometimes so don't rely on it for remote work. However the owner had a different network that was reliable.

Lovely place with kind and helpful staff. Location was perfect next to the beach and with opportunity to surf.

I originally booked a double room but the bathroom was a bit smelly, staff quickly fixed this by changing my room to one with a balcony overlooking the ocean. The room was very clean and very quiet, you can hear waves at night. The bed was comfortable and the room had a small fridge, shampoo and conditioner. Overlooking the main break, it's a great location for walking wherever you want or getting a tuk tuk. Highly recommend going to Salty Swamis for brunch or breakfast and Tiki Burger for dinner.

Great place. The people at Mountain Wave were really friendly and helpful. We stayed 1,5 day but it has been a wonderful experience.

The perfect place to stay if you are on the coast for waves. The board rentals attached is ideal and saved loads of hassle. The location and view is exquisite and the in-house food had everything we wanted and needed. Would stay again in a second.

Such an amazing place to stay with a clean, fresh and spacious room, bathroom and balcony...the staff were super friendly and were willing to help in any way and the location was 10/10...and there is a restuarant next door called Why not, which serves great food at a really good price..i would highly recommend and would love to return ? Nothing, i really enjoyed my stay

Great location, nice staff, great food in Why not cafe, large and clean rooms makes the place perfect to stay in. Although the hotel is integrated into the central and most loudly part of Hikkaduwa, it’s quiet inside the room. Ajith is always around and ready to help or just for a small talk. This was my second time in Mountain Wave and I’m in love with the place and people. Everything is perfect

Right in front of the surf breaks less crowded and the staff were so nice. Very friendly. Need softer pillows and beds. Pillows especially.

Fantastic place with fabulous sea views Also you can watch what’s going on from balcony without having to go on beach And if you do go You can leave valuables in apartment bring your own drinks down etc saves money too The guys at the surf shop are great too Good fun and will do anything for you ! Beautiful location, lovely balcony where you can chill listening to the waves! We would have stayed longer if we could :)
