This resort offers an excellent beachfront location with convenient beach access and commendable staff service; however, there is an opportunity to enhance the dining experience through improvements to the restaurant's interior design and culinary offerings.

I'd like to emphasize that this resort truly deserves a 5 star rating. From the moment we checked in, we were treated like VIPs. The staff went above and beyond to make our stay exceptional, especially after learning that I had been under the weather. Their kindness, attentiveness, and genuine care exceeded all of our expectations. To make our stay even more memorable, they surprised us with a complimentary special breakfast in celebration of our anniversary. Every detail reflected outstanding hospitality. We couldn't have asked for a better experience...10 out of 10, and we highly recommend this resort!

Had dirty towels in our room when we first arrived. Second day called down for some clean towels and was told that the staff was in a meeting so we would have to wait until they were available which was 1.5 hours later so my husband just grabbed pool towels instead. Pool was tiny for that big of a resort. Great location though!

I live taking my grandkids there because of the amenities and location to the beach. We love it. However, we did encounter a bell men that did not want to help with our luggage which was disappointing. He had the nerve to tell me that, had he know our room wasn’t ready he wouldn’t have loaded it. He also said that he would have to unpack all our belongings because they would need the luggage cart. I have stayed at 100s of hotels and never been told that. Later a very nice older concierge helped us with our luggage and showed us a room full of empty luggage carts. I was disappointed with the extent the first bellman went to avoid helping.

Booked a room with 2 queen beds on the terrace and received 2 full beds facing the parking lot. Bathroom floors were dirty and there were cob webs on the sprinkler head along with a dirty mini fridge. Staff were not as friendly compared to my previous stays for work events. Onsite restaurants were possibly under staffed due to the very slow service both times we went. Beach access was great and the beach is clean and well maintained.

The resort is apparently recently renovated- this shows but a few warnings about the new remodel. Lack of space for hanging clothes and bathroom storage, counter space is sorely lacking. Bathroom lighting is fairly good. We had a tub option in our room- shower water pressure was good and multiple shower head options existed. Staff here was beyond friendly and always helpful. Check in was quick and checkout was equally fast. Plenty of areas to sit outside and the patio area has comfy couches to relax and talk. Overall I would stay at Sonesta again. Walk directly to the beach and there is a shuttle available if you don't have a car to go downtown.

The staff was helpful. I had a terrace room and didn’t use it because the terrace was dirty concrete slab looking at parked cars. I thought it was facing the pool and or the property interior with all the trees. The was the only bad thing I experienced.

Great staff and very clean property!!

Enjoyed the stay. Did think the dinning at the hotel was priced a bit extreme for what was served. Food was great but pricey. Would recommend dinning at another location. Great stay enjoyed the atmosphere of the resort.

This was the last though - here is why: they kept charging my credit card fraudulent fees - I mean in excess. Expedia says I can’t mention prices - it was to the point my credit card company called me to alert theft concern. And 1 of the reasons Sonesta stated for these charges was “that you booked through a 3rd party app” But we prepaid in FULL And they kept changing the reasons or not providing any explanation each time I reported it This place is total sketch. It’s a scam. And…it’s not even that nice. The rooms are semi clean - the floors looked dirty and there was dirt around the base boards. Very dirty carpet and dust all around the bed for a SUITE. Water poured onto the floor from the shower each time we used it - which I had to clean. Expedia doesn’t want you to say how much you pay - because it was a rip off. And when you book through Expedia - the resort treats you differently. Like, oh you booked through a third party app - which we do b/c it’s flexible with our schedule. Anyway. Don’t waste your money, rent a house instead

    Exceptional

For $500 a night plus a daily $40 resort fee, it was a little ridiculous that they didn’t have a section of seating on the beach reserved for resort guests. If you want loungers and umbrellas, you were expected to pay a third party to rent them. Compared to the other resorts I’ve stayed at, this one was not worth the cost, won’t stay there again.

Not the greatest experience. Place seems outdated. All the common areas felt as if they did not have functioning A/C. The bathrooms appeared unkept. Staff was friendly enough. I don’t think I would stay here again.

We had an amazing stay at Sonesta Resort Hilton Head Island! The resort was beautiful, clean, and relaxing from the moment we arrived. The grounds were gorgeous. We spent most our time in the pool adults only area, which was spa like. Luxury feel & perfect. Extremely comfortable lounge chairs with adding and lounge towels fresh. Covered canopies available for purchase and comfortable chairs on the tanning ledge in the water. Spa music. They serve you food and drinks. Very large hot tub. You are just steps from the beach made everything so convenient. The staff was friendly and welcoming, and the whole property had such a peaceful, upscale vacation feel. There was always music playing in the lobby and entertainment. We enjoyed two of the restaurants on site with breakfast on the outdoor patio each morning and dinner one evening. It was the perfect place to unwind, enjoy Hilton Head, and make great memories. We would absolutely stay here again!
