Au Lac Charner Hotel

Had a pleasant and memorable stay at the hotel. Love the stalk of flower with the good night message that was left on the bed. When asked on anniversary celebration, staff suggested and helped to arrange for a bouquet of flower to be send to the room. It certainly made the stay a lot more memorable. Hotel location is excellent. The main walking street and street market are both 2 mins walk away. I prefer the croissant to be crispier, would be better if there is an option to heat up the pastries during high tea. The wifi in my room is usable most of the time, with MB/s download speed. However, occasionally, the connection broke and my online coding session was affected.

I had family members from a distance came to visit us at the hotel. They came in the lobby and their tone was a bit high. The manager came to us and told us to keep it down in a very rude fashion. He literally embarrass me in front of my family members. There was a right way of saying it. Perhaps pulling me aside and telling me, but to say it front of the entire party was rude and shameful!!! I literally wanted to tell him off, but held my composure. I for one will never be back. The staff were awesome. The facility and management made the stay a “One and Done!”

Extremely friendly and helpful personell, great location, clean, great breakfast, tea on the rooftop. Very nice Spa and Pool Area. Great Massages available in the Spa.

Great location and staff, very close to many bars, cafes, markets, malls and other places. I did not like that the water was coming out the shower. Maybe they should install a small lip/ledge to prevent the water from getting out.

Housekeeping staff were amazing, very friendly and welcoming. This was my 3rd stay since September 2023, the property seemed dated and worn. The afternoon tea has been scaled back, we only bothered once, it was halfway through the service, food was scarce and not replenished. When I requested a later check out I was surprised to be charged half the room rate for a few hours. The biggest issue was the showers, late on the first night, stone cold, got up early for a walk, still cold. We advised reception and it was hot on our return, next day ok. Last day and when we were being charged a ridiculous amount for a late check out the water was barely tepid. A staff member attended my room, agreed it was barely tepid and apologised. I had already requested a reduction in the late check out fee of which they refused and offered a Grab to the airport. I think the worst part was reception gaslighting me on checkout stating the Grab was goodwill and that they tested the water everyday and it was consistently 55 degrees. This couldn't have been further from the truth, they do not value or treat repeat customers well at all. If having a shower is important to you, this isn't the place for you.

Staff was amazing, Mr. Kent made our stay very enjoyable and helped us with all our needs. Hotel location is good.

pool room needs an upgrade a little old

I got a room with no windows, a room without windows is not healthy.

Location was great, squeezed in four main attractions which was walkable. didn’t get to swim but the pool was very nice. Wish we didn’t miss a night due to unforeseen circumstances. They knew our names, gave us a late check out, breakfast and slippers. Felt right at home. Visit wasn’t long enough. Thanks for having us

Fantastic place! One feels like royalty there. Stylish and comfortable, as well as very well placed. We had lovely time there! Loved the shower on the balcony! ♥️♥️♥️ Everything was perfect!

Location was good. Close to everything we wanted to do. The neighborhood also felt safe.

Totally misrepresented the size and style of the Suite - the bed was a small double and not the Queen bed we had booked. The shower was on the balcony. On arrival and late at night we were force at extra cost to find a diff hotel at extra cost to us
