Location cannot be more perfect

I was convinced to upgrade my room to another larger one. Maybe it was not larger, but the view might not be as good due to a tree blocking view to the Opera House.

We arrived early morning after a night spent in airplanes. The staff welcomed us friendly, made accommodations for the very early check-in and ushered us to a large room with hardwood flooring, a giant bed, an excellent bathroom and matching furniture throughout. The breakfast buffet in the garden is rich, the staff is friendly, quick and helpful. This was an experience beyond expectation. The only drawback was that we had to leave.

Despite the high price, there was lots of signs of age and wear showing throughout the hotel on fixtures, floors, walls and ceiling. Not enough to be a real issue, but enough it was hard to ignore.

The historic ambiance. The LOCATION! the STAFF! The BREAKFAST! Gym wasn’t that great. Step into tub shower.

Great location in D1 for business and exploring, clean room and breakfast was varied and tasty. Wifi was open so always needed VPN / Security which is common but prefer a secure login, even in hotels

Location location location!!! Restaurant waiters especially those serves are not friendly to hotel guest. Don’t smile!

The staff was very welcome and helpful meeting every need. Our bags didn’t arrive for several days and the hotel had all the essentials to get us through. We also took advantage of laundry services which were very helpful. The hotel was clean and quiet. We enjoyed our stay very much!

The location and ambiance can't be beat. Breakfast is outstanding. A wedding in the courtyard was quite noisy - but that happens.

The location is the best after walking around district 1 loaded with bags BAM! there's the hotel. Sitting out front having a coffee or a beer and people watching its amazing and you feel lucky. The hotel is owned by the goverment the employees are government employees who did the minimum. Couldn't get the cable tv to work they didn't care. They were having a banquet wedding in the court yard and blasted I mean blasted music until 2 AM but that was kinda charming the fact that they didn't care or were clueless to the effects on the guests. The buffet at breakfast is both a joke and gross. A major western company needs to come in close it renovate it keep its historical significance but raise the bar. Can't just live on nostalgia.
