We wanted to stay at this hotel as we first saw it 15 years ago on our first of 5 trips to Vietnam. The location is good. We selected the Presidential Suite which was roomy and comfortable to a point. Beautiful building appearance with lots of history. Great pictures/photos in the hallways. Pillow menu used effectively; quick response to request to change pillow type. The staff were not friendly, they hardly smile (not our usual experience in Vietnam). I was taken back by being asked to present our visa document (never asked for this in any other hotel) and the implied threat that we would not be checked in without this document. Having been travelling for two weeks I had no idea where it was within my luggage then shown to a public area in the foyer by the front door, for all personal items to be on display. I have a face that expresses my displeasure and it was obvious to all that I was not happy about this surly treatment. We selected the Presidential Suite of course there was an additional cost to this selection for which we were happy to pay. Disappointingly we were directed above the function room, directly opposite the office for housekeeping and, a very long way from the elevator. This resulted in noise within our room much of the time, multiple times there were staff gathered outside our room, while they were not overly rowdy there was noise as would be expected by gather staff, and on our last day we were woken by extreme volume of music from the function room, then progressed to loud volume of speaking within room for 4 hours. In additional to this there was renovation works which resulted in constant hammering for the remained of our stay (we had arranged very late checkout at 3 pm). Due to our expression of noise on the final day, the manager kindly offered to provide taxi to the airport, however the taxi driver required payment of arrival to destination. There was enough dust on the shelves that I would write a message. Tissues looked like toilet paper. in a fancy box on the table. Service in the foyer cafe area was extremely slow, causing more frustration, then the order was wrong. Boy-oh-boy! I have more experiences like this however this covers the experience sufficiently to say we were disappointed and unimpressed. Overall, it was a disappointing accommodation experience.

I loved the old lobby way back when
-
Right in the heart of Ho Chi Minh City. Easy walking distance to Ben Thanh market and other tourist areas. The breakfast is excellent.
-
Good location, easy to access restaurants and shops. Good spread of breakfast. nothing

The location was fantastic The prices were expensive for basic services
-
Fabulous location, many attractions close by, good shopping malls around, excellent rooftop bar, very good swimming pool (really clean water); spacious lounge area, almost immediate check in and check out, excellent vertical green garden in the middle. Could not have expected more...

Location Very old and dated.

Excellent as expected Nothing

Location was great and it was very clean with friendly housekeeping staff. I was sitting in the lobby waiting to check in and was continuously bypassed with complimentary drinks while other guests were given them. I wasn't permitted to charge drinks or food to my room and was told I had to pay up front even though they had my credit details for payment on departure so I went somewhere else to dine. Upon booking I booked a premium suite with access to the terrace and a pool view of which I never had either. I never received my complimentary massage as also advertised. Considering I booked the governor King Suite which is apparently supposed to be one of the best rooms it was a very disappointing stay and I certainly not return.
-
A nice very comfortable room with the Hotel being basically central to everything. Excellent breakfast selection.
-
Roof top bar and restaurant outstanding! Pigeons drinking from the pool
-
A bit too pricey for some. Could have a bigger fridge, with more free bottles of water.
-
Great breakfast registration was clumsy and too detailed
-
Location and staff friendliness! A bit dated as rooms don’t have USB or plugs to easily charge electronics near bed

Excellent location, very clean, rooftop garden/bar very nice, fantastic breakfast and massage included in price. My party was eligible for two massage vouchers. Unexpectedly, one in our party could not use voucher. There was absolutely no flexibility to allow second in party to combine massage vouchers into one day’s use prior to departure which meant losing a voucher. Prices in rooftop bar prohibitive relative to prices at nice local establishments.

Location is very central. Breakfast is superb. Breakfast timing end at 10am. It's best if extend timing to 11am.

The hotel's location was very central, providing easy access to a variety of shops, restaurants, and major tourist attractions. It was an easy place for taxis and Grab to pick up and drop off. Our hotel room was clean. The hotel was old and in need of serious upkeep. First, the rooms are not soundproof at all, and you can hear everything. The bar played live music every night. Our room was right below the live music, which meant it felt like we were at the bar until they stopped playing at 10:30 pm. Then we would be awake at 5:00 am when they started moving chairs in the bar/breakfast area above. We could hear our neighbors in all their intimacies (gulp) each day. We could hear our other neighbors talking and watching TV. The gym was old, and all the equipment was broken. It was almost comical trying to work out in there. The carpets were dirty, and the same candy and cigarette butts were on the floor for the duration of our stay. On the first day at breakfast, they ran out of many food items, and they remained unstocked for the entire time we were there. For what we paid and for the name associated with the hotel, I would expect more. It's like they just cater to the tourist groups that stay for 1-2 nights and move on. It's not quality customer care.

Great service..Nice breakfast Not enough electrical outlets by bed for my wife and I CPAP machines. No more nightly shows in garden as they used to have. Terrible WiFi service in bedroom and pool area. I even asked the pool attend ant to help me get better WiFi at the pool, but he was unable to help. This place used to be great..no more! Not worth the money for a supposedly 5 star hotel.

Room was on lower floor with no view When requested for a change they asked for more money Just didnot like this attitude Room had no view and window overlooked a badly place court yard on low floor

The room is beautiful as described. Bed is very comfortable. It’s a nice size room. Nothing really. Enjoyed the buffet breakfast but orange juice seems to be not offered but the abundance of hot and cold coffee surely made up for it.
