Nothing. DISAPPOINTED I arrived at this hotel at 11:30 PM after a 12-hour bus ride, exhausted, only to walk into a completely dark lobby. First impression already felt strange. Once I got to the room, I was honestly shocked — the hotel looks absolutely NOTHING like the photos on Booking.com. Not just the room, the entire property looks completely different from what’s advertised. The room smelled terrible, especially the bathroom, where the sewage smell seemed to come straight through the vents. The blinds were broken and couldn’t close, which meant people in the taller surrounding buildings could literally see directly into the room. The bed felt broken and unstable, the walls were covered in dirt marks and stains, the floor clearly hadn’t been cleaned properly, and there was hair in the sink and bathroom when I arrived. I went downstairs immediately to request another room because there was no way I was staying there for my final days in Vietnam. Staff told me the only available room would cost an additional 1.8 million VND basically forcing me to pay for an “upgrade” just to escape the disgusting first room. The second room was only slightly better. At least the blinds closed. But the bathtub wasn’t attached properly, so it literally shifted and tipped when sitting in it. The sink drain wasn’t connected correctly either, so water poured directly onto the floor and onto your feet every time you used it. The only decent part of this hotel was the breakfast. The biggest disappointment was the pool area, which was one of the main reasons I booked this place. The photos online are completely misleading. The pool looks abandoned and dilapidated, clearly not maintained or properly used in years. No bar, no atmosphere, no nice rooftop experience like the photos suggest. Those pictures must be over 10 years old. This was by far the worst hotel experience I’ve had, and I’ve genuinely stayed in hostels cleaner and better maintained than this place.

If you are keen to see the sights of Saigon on foot, and spend most of your time out amongst it, Jovia is for you. Everything was within walking distance - Ben Thanh Market, HCMC Museum, the Reunification Palace, Notre Dame, Book St and the Central PO, the Opera House, Uncle Hos statue, Nguyen Hue Walking St can all be reached in 5-20 mins, with so much good food and drink round every corner. The staff were super friendly and helpful, Jovia is not for luxurious lounging about the hotel, it's for explorers who need a good comfy base. The rooms are spacious and clean, as is the hotel, and all the basics are covered really well.

Easy to go around city Breakfast menu

Location is near a lot of good food and fun places. I was in a superior room ( upgraded by booking.com), equipment is very standard, bathtub area is small, pooyly equipped , inconvenient in-out and not clean . Buffet breakfast place is small , crowded with tencils placed at floor level, not hygiene friendly installation.

I have never before encountered reception staff as rude and unhelpful as at this hotel. The linens were all grey and worn. They don’t seem to understand that a hotel has to clean and replace linens as part of doing business, and they charge guests for simply using a towel. The charge is the cost of a new replacement, which is exorbitant. WiFi is slow and unreliable. There was no WiFi at all for my last day. Breakfast buffet is grubby, food isn’t kept hot, plates and silverware are kept on the lowest shelf, centimeters from people’s feet, practically on the floor. Pool is dirty and run down, no WiFi. The room was worn and bashed up, needed maintenance and painting. Mold in shower, hairs in sink on arrival , hairs stuck on bathroom walls. This hotel is a disaster. There are better options on the same block. Do not stay there.

The room was spacious, though it did not include some standard toiletries (such as a toothbrush, shower cap, and shaving kit). I requested these at the reception, and the team kindly provided a toothbrush and shower cap in my room. Breakfast was simple as well, with a limited selection of vegetarian options. Overall, the hotel was pleasant, and the lobby had a lovely festive atmosphere with a Christmas tree and Santa Claus decorations. The hotel is located on a small street close to several massage parlors, which may be convenient for guests interested in such services. There are also cafés and restaurants nearby. I sincerely wish the hotel continued prosperity, growth, and further improvements in comfort and service—it has great potential. I liked that it has pool and pool towels. It has a nice big bath tub in bathroom. Nice big bed, spacious rooms, big window. AC works well. Some room has TV with netflix. The staff was very friendly, nice, really earned their tip. The breakfast was good. There were lot of stairs to get to the rooftop. Only 1 elevator, but elevator was fast.
