Nice hotel close to everything. The entrance is a little hidden, just at the left side next to some restaurant seating, go down and turn right to get to reception. Rooms very spacious and comfortable

The price was on point! The location was awesome - few mins walk to Ben Thanh. The staff were super duper helpful & friendly; they speak and understand English. The beds are huge and comfy. Toilet with auto and manual bidets! Awesome! The balcony was also quite spacious and comfortable to chill and smoke outdoors, with the city street view! Housekeeping knocked on our door early morning due to 'Do Not Disturb' tag was not hung on the door knob. I thought housekeeping usually around late morning to noon time. The doors connected to the hotel was locked when you come back or go out of the hotel late; need to wake nearby staff up to unlock the doors for us.

For the price you can’t beat it. Clean, newer bathroom, comfortable beds and awesome location. No real lobby and check in process a bit confusing.

Excellent location by Ben Tranh, Saigon Center and great restaurants. Third time here and liked this location best. The hotel is part of a large building with several other companies, therefore, WiFi is excellent, and the shower and hot water are as well. Showers and bathroom are fresh and newly updated. Rooms are clean and bedding is outstanding. Staff was inconsistent with their messaging to upgrade room upon arrival. One minute a room is available, then it is not. Could upgrade, but had to wait day. I didn’t like the shower with my toilet. Over night staff was going to charge us a much higher rate. He said we couldn’t check in until after 2:00 to the new room. We knew nobody was in that room. When we came down at 9:00 morning staff said we check in now. Clearly, it had been vacant all night. It would have been easier to have been in one room.

The location is great. The staff was friendly and helpful, except the day shift manager. The manager, he’s unfriendly and unhelpful. He looked rude and unhappy when I asked him to call me a taxi. He said he didn’t the taxi company. This taxi company cars are all over the city. He reluctantly called when I showed him the telephone number.

1) First and foremost, the hotel staff were very friendly and helpful, including the security guard. They really made the effort and went all the way to help even though a few of them struggled to communicate in English. 2) The hotel room is spacious, fairly new and well equipped with ample supply of toiletries, cloth-hangers, wall sockets and basic amenities. The bed is quite comfy and the air conditioning is acceptable for me (although already lowest at 18 degrees C and felt like 24 instead) since I don't like freezing cold room temperature. 1) This one is not an issue specific to Ruby Hotel. I encountered same problem with other budget hotels. Some budget hotels try to hold hotel guest's passport during stay unless guest pays upfront. I don't get why this is still practised in Ho Chi Minh City even when the hotels already have guest's credit card details and in this case, booking was booked through Booking.com website. 2) The hotel is difficult to locate. The taxi driver dropped me at the wrong hotel also called "Ruby Hotel Saigon". I had to walk down the street asking for directions and was fortunate enough to get help from a local passer-by and later the hotel's security guard who happened to see me asking around for directions. 3) There are two ways to access to the hotel and the reception, either by passing through a Travel Agent office (which I suppose belongs to the same owner of Ruby Hotel) or, by walking through a narrow alley way located between Liberty Central Hotel Saigon (Beware, there's another Liberty Hotel in the vicinity so don't get mixed up) and the above-mentioned Travel Agent office. I found the latter access the hard way out when the Travel Agent was closed at night and I had to find a way back to the hotel after a late-night out. 4) The hotel WiFi connection is hopeless. It kept throwing me out and reconnecting every few minutes. I tried using different mobile devices and both experienced same problem. Not sure if it was because I was on a high-floor but either way, the WiFi service is just plain unacceptable. 5) The bathroom water supply was suddenly cut-off without any notice one morning when I was using it at the time. I suppose some maintenance or renovation works were going on since I kept hearing construction work noises in the building during day time.
