You have to go downstairs to the Tropicana cafe to order breakfast. But if you do order room service, everything on the menu is $2-$4 more expensive and an additional 18% service charge is added. There is meant to be complimentary water on the room which was never left in our room. Despite asking housekeeping. I really didn’t like how the pool staff referred to the hotel guests as ‘travellers’ and preferred locals. All in all, it is fine this place but next time I’d definitely pick a different hotel.

We enjoyed our time at this hotel. It was clean and comfortable and the pool area was a highlight. The food at Tropicana was excellent (but very VERY pricey) and the gym was surprisingly well equipped for an older hotel. We would recommend.

    We love this hotel!

Loved how close this hotel is to many Hollywood attractions. There's a metro link station across the street. The hotel has a couple of cool bars if you want to stay there and have a drink. The hotel itself is very old and you can tell by the furniture and pipes might make some noise but still very well kept.

An oasis in the middle of LA. Hotel and pool were fantastic. Staff so helpful. Will be returning on our next trip

The overall property is decent and I had a room with a balcony, which is nice, but the rooms are a bit dated, the beds are low to the ground and not that comfortable.. I had some bugs in my room so they might need to spray it once in a while.. his staff was nice. it wasn’t a bad experience, but not great either

Felt like a film star chilling by the amazing pool, absolutely brilliant. Right in the centre of Hollywood, all the history and glitz, what a cool place!

things really went downhill from the last time. I stayed here two years ago the place feels worn and we had no idea that the two restaurants in the hotel were closed. The elevator was shut down for two days to accommodate someone doing an event or film, shooting on the roof. It was very frustrating to try to get up and down. If they get things back together, I would consider this Hotel again on a trip to Hollywood.

Great location right on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The suite was clean and cozy, with two beds and a great view from the high floor. The pool area was lovely, and the breakfast served there was delicious. I expected a more comfortable bed. The on-site parking was also quite expensive, but cheaper option available to park on public parking near to the hotel entrance.

The tile work throughout the hotel was absolutely beautiful and added to its old-Hollywood charm. Our room was rather small, but given the age and history of the hotel, we felt that was appropriate for the time period and part of the experience. One area that does need attention is the lobby. The check-in area is very dark, and the steps leading from the entrance to the check-in desk can be difficult to see and potentially dangerous. Better lighting in this area would greatly improve both safety and the arrival experience. The hotel is located right on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, making it an excellent location for exploring Hollywood and many nearby attractions. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and loved the opportunity to experience a piece of Hollywood history. If you appreciate historic hotels, classic Hollywood charm, and a unique atmosphere, this hotel is definitely worth considering.

The location was amazing. The property was unique and definitely had an old Hollywood feel. The rooms were nicely appointed and the pool area was amazing. Special shout out to David who gave us a tour of this hotel one evening including the penthouses and the roof. Showing us the cabaret behind the bookshelf was super cool. His knowledge of the history of the hotel and the ‘ghosts’ that inhabit it was amazing. It was a highlight of our stay. The air conditioning in the room. Our first room the cabana garden view room was 76 degrees when we walked in. It would not cool down. Got moved to a cabana patio room which was slightly better but we could not get the temperature under 72 degrees.

    All was Amazing!!!

The place itself just has a little magic that sets it apart from other properties. The staff are wonderful. And even though the rooms in the tower are not the most modern, they are perfect the way they are. Thank you for another wonderful stay.

Food at the pool bar was good, as were the bartenders. Pool was nice and relaxing. Room was what I expected; however, the thermostat didn't move despite trying to lower the temperature and therefore was uncomfortably warm. Also, people below were on their patio talking till 5:45 am so I was unable to sleep well. Suggest they put earplugs in the room to help guest

charming, convenient , good size rooms nice atmosphere- but a bit dark if you are old and need glasses in the lobby and foyer. the only complaint was the scheduling of an extremely loud pool party and Music on our first night. went until midnight and was out of character for a Hotel of this calibre I thought

Decent cabana room and a fun pool scene. AC in the room had a hard time keeping up but it wasn’t too stuffy.

Housekeeping was hit and miss sometimes the room was cleaned and other we would need to call them. Sometimes we got towels sometimes we didn’t. Glasses were never taken away and in general we felt the hotel was under staffed in this area. On the Friday the hotel hosted a pool party for over 21’s something we were not told about at anytime including the check-in process so we were told we needed to go straight to our rooms ant not out by the pool because we had children under age. The music was very loud until midnight (not an issue if we had been told as we would have made arrangements to go out) Over all the hotel is trading off its history but unfortunately its glory days are long gone. We stayed 20 years ago and it has definitely gone down hill and spoilt our 25th Anniversary celebrations.
