Hilton Garden Inn Birmingham/Lakeshore Drive

The room was clean. There was not much body wash left in the shower container. We had to ask for coffee for the in room Keurig (there was only tea) Very disappointed that there was no free breakfast. Charge was $32 for breakfast that they used to serve for free. We also witnessed a staff member sleeping in a corner on a chair. Not sure if she was on break but wasn’t a good look.

Disappointing stay at a "Hilton" property. Was not informed at check in that room service depends "on the length of the stay" or you have to request it. When I called asking for fresh towels, lady at reception said "I am the only person here so you will need to come down to get them". Also had an attitude when she had to go get the towels!!!. The Internet was HORRIBLE, at the room; so bad that everything you tried to play on the TV kept buffering. At checkout nobody at the lobby or front desk, instead a sign that said " somebody will be back soon". Are they under staffed trying to save a buck? Don't stay there if you expect Hilton property standards.

2nd-got new room. Staff was confused and woke us after midnight LOUDLY and wondered why the first room THEY assigned us was occupied. ?. 3rd-staff had no idea who was occupying first assigned room. 4th- we did get 2 free brekky coupons. We had to hunt down the cook, the beverages, and our order. The same loud staff that woke us after midnight struggled to remember an orange juice order for over 44 minutes. 5=poorly managed and ignorant staff made our stay terrible

Well it was one of the worst experiences I have had traveling. Ironing board inoperative , no iron in room, No hairdryer in room, no ac outlet in bathroom . We were there for a wedding and had to sit on floor in bdrm ( to plug in ) in front of a mirror. Electronic shade worked intermittently. Will not be back.

I booked my stay through booking.com and when I tried checking in the front desk lady said I hadn't paid. I had my confirmation number and emails. She said I actually need to see your receipt. It took me 35 minutes to find the receipt because I had paid for this stay back on February 28, 2026 and this was on June 25, 2026. My opinion, the communication between booking.com and Hilton Garden Hotels should be better to prevent this from happening again. Also the refrigerator was horribly iced over and out bed skirting was filthy

Found a cockroach in the room . Otherwise great place to stay

Our room was somewhat clean. Stains on the chair. Inside of bathroom door looked like someone tried to claw their way out. Asked for an extra pillow and was told that was unavailable.

I felt bad for the employee at the check-in desk. There was no manager onsite (and no one else at the front desk) and the person in front of me checking in had a challenging problem. I had to wait 15 minutes or more to check in because of that. Our bathroom shower was not cleaned well before checkin or during our stay. One of the side doors was left unlocked because there was an issue with the room keys unlocking it for entry.

Can’t watch TV unless you put your own subscriptions in. The swimming pool is very small
