The staff are really friendly, accommodating and explains everything. The hotel has nice pool by the beach and a lot of perks from hotel like beach kit that includes wagon, beach towels and chairs

We booked very last minute after unexpectedly needing to leave another hotel, and the staff could not have been more accommodating. They responded to my messages incredibly quickly and even allowed us early access to our room so we could get ready for a wedding that evening. We were so appreciative of how easy they made everything for us. Having lived in Imperial Beach many years ago, it was also really special to be back somewhere that felt so familiar. The resort has wonderful amenities, including complimentary happy hour treats and a beverage, morning yoga on site, and delicious food at the restaurant. There are also amazing, inexpensive tacos right next door! We had no trouble finding parking on the nearby side streets, and being able to walk the beach every morning was a dream. Thank you to the staff at Pier South for turning an unexpected change in plans into such a memorable stay. We absolutely loved our time here and will definitely be back!

The staff was friendly and helpful. The property has a wonderful view and many restaurants within walking distance. The only downside is that it sits next to a public park. This is out of the resort’s control, but from time to time you get loud music from cars etc.

It’s an older property and 2 of the ice machines were broken and non of the staff knew about it?? Rooms were clean and staff was friendly. It’s in a more ghetto part of town and plenty of homeless people around. Ocean view was beautiful though

Calling this property beachfront is a little misleading. It is indeed on the beach, but that beach is contaminated with sewage and you really can’t even go on the sand let alone the water. The pool is small and was surrounded by clumps of hair. The upholstery in the room was stained and gross. You’ll also be nowhere near any of the San Diego activities. We changed hotels the day we got there and were still charged $300. Learn from my mistake. Steer clear of Imperial and Coronado beaches. Yuck.

Reserved a one night stay for my parents at a “expensive” hotel to find out that my parents couldn’t sleep because of the smell. The hotel was outdated. The service was not helpful and when they asked for air refresher for the room or to switch the room, they never received any service on both requests. I would like to request an accommodation for this past experience please.

We had to leave early because they were having plumbing issues no water we couldn’t use the bathroom or shower
-
Very understaffed in the restaurant. Balcony of our room had cigarette butts. Rugs were filthy in the room. Restaurant staffing should have been better for a weekend crowd but your servers were amazing
-
The hotel itself is in serious need of maintenance. It feels like the property is falling apart, with outdated facilities and visible wear throughout. The restaurant staff were another major disappointment. The service was unfriendly, slow, and unprofessional, making every meal an unpleasant experience. The only positive part of our stay was the housekeeping staff. They were friendly, worked hard, and kept our room clean despite the condition of the hotel. Overall, I would not stay here again and cannot recommend South Pier Resort until significant improvements are made.

Beautiful ocean front view of the Pier. Restaurant food was excellent.

This was a spontaneous getaway for me and my teenager. Highly recommend an ocean front room. Beach advisory so unable to swim in imperial Beach, but that is not the fault of the hotel. It was still lovely to be able to sit on our balcony and listen to the waves and watch the sunset. Also awesome to have a pool and a hot tub to do that from. The on-site restaurant was delicious and my son declared the waffles the best ones he’s ever had. The staff were so friendly and helpful. And there’s a little basketball court right beside the place and they keep basketballs at the front desk, which was awesome for my basketball loving teen.

-
