Just 10 minutes’ walk from Inverness Rail Station, Inverness Youth Hostel offers free private parking and bicycle storage. Eastgate shopping center is a 10-minute walk from this hostel. Hootananny, a popular music venue, is just 15 minutes’ walk away. Culloden Battlefield and its visitor center can be reached after a 10-minute drive. The banks of Loch Ness and the country village of Dores are both a 20-minute drive away. Urquart Castle is within 30 minutes’ drive of Inverness Youth Hostel. All rooms have shared bathroom facilities and are simply furnished. Packed lunches can be arranged on request and luggage storage is available. Hosteling Scotland is a charity and membership organization. For nonmembers, a supplement per person, per night is included in the published rate.

The Lobby and the cat. The atmosphere was very welcoming. Bedsheets were very comfortable. Luggage room available. The shower cubicle should have a small bench where you can keep your things dry, allowing you to get changed with more privacy. The alarm of the door is ringing if you press the door handle for too long. Breakfast (£6.50) wasn't great a little bit more variety would do the trick, but there were gluten-free and vegan options available, which was very nice.

Shared spaces like the lounge and kitchen/dining areas promoted social interaction. Nice to see people of all ages at the hostel. Great to have a place to cook and keep food in the fridge. We appreciated having a spacious private room with a sink for our family. Great to have free parking. It was a bit far for walking to the downtown area.

I stayed at the hostel with seven friends (all girls), and we booked two rooms, each with four beds. Our rooms were on the second floor, conveniently located right in front of the women's restroom and shower. Since we were only staying for one night, everything was clean and in good condition, allowing us to rest well after a long day of road tripping. Our trip was delayed, so we requested a late check-in, as we estimated we would arrive at the hostel around midnight. The late-night supervisor was very friendly and helpful during our check-in.

Value for money The room had a not a very nice smell when you first went in but when you opened the window it went pretty fast.

My single room with an en suite was excellent value for the money. There was nowhere affordable apart from the hostel when I wanted to visit. And it is very close to the city centre. Nothing. It was all fine.

Smooth check in. Clean beds Bed was springy. 2 charging points for a room for 6 people. 4 lockers for a room of 6 people. Nowhere to hang clothes in shower area

The staff was really helpfull, the kitchen was big and fully equipped, the room was ok

Great location and very friendly staff. Pillows were hard and it was very noisy particularly late at night. Our room faced the car park and the noise continued until past 11.30pm. There are many signs asking the occupants to be quiet but some people ignored that.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The hostel was very spacious. The electrical connections were old style and limited in the rooms. The location was not close to the center and needed walking uphill and far.
