Garden House Hotel - Special Class

Professional staff, especially Elvin, daily cleaning, good breakfast -----

Lovely hotel. Warm greeting by the reception people every time we entered the hotel. I admired the porters who gracefully took our heavy bags to and from our room. Very comfortable room, cleaned every day with care. We requested a quiet room and it really was! Breakfast was a very nice buffet made all the better by the charming woman who tended the room. Note that you must be able to handle stairs to access most of the rooms in this hotel.

Excellent hotel, great experience. Staff were very helpful and welcoming. The room was comfortable, clean and spacious. The location is very convenient for all the main tourist attractions in Istanbul. They even have a resident cat. If you want to experience the real city, this is the wrong location.

I stayed five nights at this property and I thought that it was excellent. It is rather old world, but I actually liked that. The room was comfortable. There was nothing I really didn’t like about the property. If I’m going to be petty, I guess better lighting in the bathroom would be something that they could improve upon but that’s very minor.

This was one of the more unique experiences I have had at a hotel. Historic and well managed, while also being very comfortable and relaxing. For example, on most days there was great weather, therefore, we can sit facing the courtyard via the open windows in the lobby while having a nice meal (the hotel’s restaurant is truly amazing). Awesome experience.

A heritage character from the interior and exterior which I liked. Breakfast, room size were as posted. Location? great but not walking friendly. Non availability of an elevator. After walking between 10-12 km daily on the hills of istanbul, the last thing you want to do is climbing the stairs 4 levels. That isn’t a complaint as I knew from the beginning.

Staff. Environment and Vibe. Location. The shower head spread the water widely to make the floor slippery and can improve but it is okay to use.

Exceptionally good little hotel in a stupendous location within the old city. No elevator so beware if you have an issue with stairs. All 4 of us loved it. The staff is welcoming, friendly and always helpful. The restaurant on site has a beautiful patio garden, indoor tables and a sunny glassed in porch. We ate a number of meals there and enjoyed all. The hotel is in a series of connected small buildings and you can have a balcony overlooking the patio garden or other directions. The breakfast buffet is included in the room charge, simple but fresh and satisfying. Coffee is always available in the lobby free of charge. No blackout curtains in my room which got light from the street.

Room was right next to outside dining area on ground floor. You look out the window and there are people sitting there looking back at you. It is also right around the corner from the reception area. Very loud. Ended up immediately checking out. This room should be advertised as such so the person can make the decision if lack of privacy and loud noise is a deciding factor in choosing this hotel room. Male guest service manager on duty was very nice and allowed me to be refunded. I do not recommend this hotel if you are located on the ground floor.

Room was very nice and bed very comfortable. The staff were so friendly and helpful, and the breakfast buffet was very good. The location could not be beat. It was walking distance to all that Sultanahmet has to offer. Though our room was large and very comfortable, it overlooked the garden restaurant which was open until late with live music until 11:00 PM! I am an early sleeper, so I could not fall asleep until all the clinking of silverware and crooning stopped (way past my bedtime)! One of the staff was kind enough to offer us a different room, as we were there for only one night, but we just didn’t feel like repacking our bags.

The staff were friendly and helpful. Our only questionable moment was when we came home with a drippy takeaway bag from a meal out. We asked for something to put under it and it wasn’t clear whether that should have been handled by the hotel or the restaurant but we wound up putting a drippy bag into the hotel fridge.

Staff were all very friendly, polite and efficient. The bed was very comfortable. The garden was very pretty with lovely seating if you went to the restaurant, although we did not eat in there. Great location. Close to everything without it being noisy. Amazing transfers to and from the airport arranged by the hotel. A wonderfully luxurious and comfortable car on both occasions. I would definitely recommend the booking of this transfer. It was a great way to start the holiday. The room and balcony was smaller than we had believed we would be getting from the booking photographs. The balcony was a squash for two people. The bathroom needs updating and the bath/shower would have been difficult to get in had we been less agile as it had a very large side.
