Hotel Orkide

The location is underrated, it’s near the public transport so you could reach anywhere in Istanbul within a short time, the staff is friendly and helpful. It was a nice stay overall and it’s a good value hotel. The rooms needs more work with the plumbing, so the sewer smell go away.

Everything was great, no complain at all.

The location was quite far from the city center, and it was difficult to reach on foot with luggage because of the many steep uphill and downhill streets. What concerned me most was the safety of the area. Shortly after I arrived, a fight broke out outside the hotel, with people shouting loudly, which was very intimidating. Later, after things had calmed down, I went out for a walk and an unknown person threw a knife from behind me. Fortunately, it did not hit me, but it passed very close and was a very frightening and distressing experience. As a result, I did not feel safe in the surrounding area.

Sewer piping are not good make the whole room smell really bad, I got to sleep with the window open and ware earplug to sleep.

Everything was alright. Didnt face any problems at all.

Location It could be better

Comfortable, metro and buses near to the location, also some tourist places and mini markets, the shower and room are in good conditions and the recepction help us to arrange a taxi to airport due our flight hour

I had a single deluxe room on the sixth floor. For me it was no issue taking my backpack up the stairs to the 6th floor, and, in fact, I was glad that the room was on a higher floor at a further distance from the street noise, but I can imagine someone with lots of luggage or heavy luggage might struggle. Perhaps a lower floor would be best for them. My room was quite small, but very clean and orderly, with basic amenities like small fridge and coffee pot with tea, etc. The tv was small and to the side of the bed. The bed was quite hard, but not uncomfortable. There were warm comforters and the bathroom was spotless. The view from the window isn't much, just down to the street below, which isn't too busy, although there were some kids playing outside and making noise quite late into the night -- not the hotel's fault. The front desk attendants were polite, and allowed me to leave my backpack in the lobby in a safe spot while I went to explore the city, as I arrived quite early, around 9 am, before the rooms were ready. The location of the hotel is easy walkable distance to the sites in Sultanahmet and Beyazit metro station (uphill) and the Grand Bazaar. Overall, I was quite satisfied with my little room (good enough for one person only), and consider it great value, especially for costly Istanbul. Nothing. It was all quite good!

silence and quite with warm cosy feeling They didnot provide charging socket for conecting charger and asked to get from market.As my charger didnot meet turkish socket style.

Perfect location, walking distance from the main square. Warm (my stay was in a very cold winter days), clean, comfortable beds, kind staff.

The location was great — close to main attractions and public transport. The room was clean and comfortable, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The room was a bit small and the breakfast options could be improved. It could also get a little noisy at night.
