Ishak Pasa Palace by Joyway Hotels

Nothing I was dropped off at Ishak Pasa Hotel at night, no information that the office was in another hotel, so I waited for 30 min and panicked, because everything was dark and nobody was there. Finally a bell boy came with other guests so I found out about the other hotel. At the hotel desk they wanted to charge me again eventhough I had paid trough booking. I showed them that I had paid and they backed down. My room was a complete catastrophe: It was dirty, hadn't been cleaned, the floor was filthy, the beds had hair in them, I had NO TOWELS and only a left over almost used up toilet roll. The bathroom sink had dried tooth paste in it, the mirror was dirty and thr worst was the black hair ball in the sink. I had to shower and dry off with stripped of bed linens. This hotel is disgusting and I don't ever want to come back to Istanbul ever again, this ruined my stay!

Perfect location right next to a tram line and taxi base was easy to get around. The hotel was perfect. I was a bit worried with the reviews around noise but honestly you could hear a pin drop it was so quiet and peaceful. We all felt right at home. All the staff members made our trip so welcoming everytime we entered and left the hotel. A huge thanks for Oktay and Gulnihal for making us feel like family. Gutted that the hotel is closing for new management in a months time and won’t see the staff again otherwise I would have definitely come back just for them No lift access and I was travelling with family but I messaged the hotel well in advance requesting easy access rooms and they helped get the luggage upstairs so was still great!

I liked everything, the staff were really helpful, we didn't received at first a room with view as it was in the booking but at our request they give us a nice room with city view. In the room I didn't have a hairdryer and the staff was very helpful and kind to offer me to change my room with another one which has a hairdryer. Everything was great, the cleaned room, the breakfast, the location. You are close to all the main tourist attractions like Topkapi palace, Hagia Sophia, Basilica cisterna, Sultan Ahmet mosque etc. I didn' t like the behaviour of some other tourists who stay there particularly some German tourists who made such infernal noise in the night and we couldn't sleep because of them. Such a shameful behaviour.

Location excellent, friendly and helpful. Quite a good choice at breakfast. A bit disappointed with the room at the top with balcony, very dark. looks bigger in the photos. Needs some odd jobs doing, tables falling apart, carpet on stairs needs attention, painting etc Would have liked coffee, milk, water, etc left for us daily. Maybe the other rooms are better than the one we chose?

The hotel was nothing like the pictures. It was old and badly run. The breakfast was stale.

Room where as described, the location is close to the museum and the blue mosque. There are restaurants around you to go out for dinner. the staff is really helpful and kind. The breakfast was the same every morning not with a lot of good options, but other than that it was a good stay.

The location is superb, great value for money. Its not perfect and there were things i would have liked to change but would definitely go back again. I may not have the spelling right but Sebah, the manager was super friendly and helpful. Highly recommended. You are in the centre of an extremely busy area, the benefits are everything is on your doorstep, the downside is the constant traffic and noise. Bring your ear plugs! Silly little things vis the breakfast service, every day having to ask for vold milk or the yoghurt and juice to be brought up, trying to find the cutlery etc. Small things

The location is excellent. Could not be better. Right in the middle of old town along the palace walls but feels far from the crowds that gather around Hagia Sofia and the Blue Mosque. The staff are friendly and the breakfast was lovely. It is very clear that the hotel is not being maintained. The floor boards are coming off the stairs. Our shower was missing it’s door (and it was a shower meant to have a door), to open the window, we needed to prop up the window pane with a dustbin, the extra duvet in the cupboard didn’t have a cover, nor did the pillow, and we had to ask several times before it was fixed. These issues can all be overlooked for the location (which is excellent), but the hotel has so much potential if the owners could just prioritise maintenance and service delivery.
