Ersari Hotel

The romantic location so close to the key historic attractions of Sultanamet was ideal, providing you don't mind quaint narrow cobbled streets. There are also plenty of shops and cafes nearby (Evin Bakery is heaven!) The Grand Bazaar and Tram 1 to the other side of town are also within 10 minutes walk. We loved the views from our room of the busy Sea of Marmara! The staff were friendly and most helpful. We couldn't get the TV to work, but that was not a priority for us.

Nothing The rooms were extremely small, old, and poorly maintained. The floor was very dirty, and walking into the room was honestly the worst moment of my entire trip. Our room didn’t have any view at all, even though the photos online showed sea-view rooms, which was very misleading. There was no daily housekeeping unless you specifically asked for it, and even then, they never changed the bed sheets during my whole stay. The breakfast was very basic and always cold because nothing was kept warm — there were no warmers at all. Reaching the hotel was also difficult, as you had to walk up a very steep hill, which made getting there quite exhausting. All of these issues made me leave the hotel one day earlier, and they still refused to refund me for the extra night. I definitely do not recommend this place. It’s overpriced, offers almost no service, and only cares about taking your money.

Since I arrived, the staff were always very attentive and friendly. They arranged for me to be picked up from the hotel to the airport and made sure everything was safe. I definitely recommend this hotel. 10/10

Location was fabulous, walking distance from all local landmarks such as Blue Mosque, Topkapi Palace, Basillica Cisterna. We had the honeymoon suite and the view was superb. Juma was helpful and always on hand when needed. We left an item in the room and he has kindly posted it to UK for us. Breakfast was a little disappointing, hot food cooked but not to order so often cold chips and cold omelette left out with no facilities to keep warm.

Nothing I paid for a sea view room. Firstly they gave me the room without any view. Then I showed them reservation and they gave me the room with the view on construction side and refused to do anything! Very disappointed about this hotel! I don’t recommend you at all! Find out photos with “promised view” and the real one and don’t pay your money for this hotel…

I absolutely loved the location—just steps from public transportation and close to all the major tourist attractions. The breakfast was rich and delicious, featuring homemade cake, scrambled eggs, cheese, and an unforgettable fig confiture. You can enjoy it on the porch, soaking in the fresh air and the light of a beautiful sunny day. I truly appreciated the kindness of the owner, who was always available and helpful—whether it was providing extra sheets, arranging taxi service, or even mailing my postcards from the post office. I had a few issues with my credit card, but they were incredibly patient, accommodating, and consistently welcoming.

This property is a charming family-run business that offers great value for money, making it well worth the stay. Breakfast is included in our rate. It is typically Turkish breakfast but it would be lovely if the breakfast items display in hot conditions.

We had a wonderful stay in Istanbul at the Ersari Hotel. The room was clean, comfortable, and we enjoyed spending time on the balcony with sea view. The location is ideal to visit many of the top attractions in Istanbul, it is less than a 10 minute walk to Sultanhamet Square and the nearby tram makes getting around easy. There are lots of nice shops for both souvenirs and daily needs within walking distance. The staff at Ersari Hotel was exceptional and very kind. They were always willing to help with anything we needed, including booking a taxi from the airport and accommodating our late check-in. The breakfast included with our reservation was also excellent. Overall, we would not hesitate to stay at Ersari Hotel again and to recommend to others.

Clean and supportive staff Location

Very good location and service.

A wonderful small family hotel in the heart of the historical part of Istanbul. Staff always available and engaged. Extremely clean, comfortable mattresses, decorated with taste, excellent homemade breakfast. Given that we were in the winter part of the year, they made an effort to provide additional heating in the room. We definitely recommend!
