Great atmosphere, friendly staff and good location. A beautiful building for a good price. Will definitely book again

Location and price Facilities are worn out. AC and TC remote batteries required replacement, shower without doors, bed lights not working, location within quite micro industrial setting, somewhat scary in the night, with insufficient outdoor lighting.

The hotel is in an area where during the day is lively, but at night, there is not a shop next street open.

Manager kindly came to get us when we were lost nearby on arrival late evening. Room had nice bathroom. Bed, mini fridge and AC were also fine. Good location, walking distance to Blue Mosque etc. Very good value for the price we paid. After first evening we never saw anyone. No way to contact staff. There was some noise but not from room TVs because none worked! Circular staircase was dangerous with small pieces of loose carpet on each step.

It was the best hotel in this price range I've ever stayed in Istanbul. It's suitable for a long stay on budget. Good location, very quiet street at night Shower is good Air-conditioning is good Nicely renovated old building. Opposite is a very nice cheap place to buy food. Because it's wholesale shopping Street, there is no access by car (taxi), the street is closed during the day, so you have to walk about 6 minutes The window in my room wasn't closing The lighting in the room not bright enough for reading at night

Very clean and cozy

On a positive note, the staff were respectful and did try to assist, but unfortunately, the condition of the room made it impossible to enjoy the experience. I hope management takes these issues seriously and improves the quality of the rooms to meet basic expectations. Iwas very disappointed with my stay, as the room did not match what was advertised. The ceiling had visible mold, the TV didn't work at all, and there were spider webs on the main lamp--clearly indicating a lack of proper cleaning and maintenance.

An old style hotel just on the outskirts of Sultanahmet, which made it a brilliant location for us at an affordable price. We referred to our budget double room as ' Camping in the city' which worked for us as all we want is a clean, secure place with water and a loo - that's pretty much what we got! The room was tiny, but it worked, just didn't spend much time there. We did discover the little roof top terrace which was sweet, but there was certainly no garden! Great that we could leave our bags there in our last day. Staff were very friendly and kind. The stairs which were spiral and wooden, with a handrail only on the narrowest part which made ascending and depending treacherous! Especially with the unsafe little coverings they had put on each step to make it look nicer but weren't fastened down securely! Our TV didn't work, neither did the air con, luckily we needed neither but one of the owners came to look, said he'd fix it and never returned! Didn't matter to us, but they shouldn't advertise it as a facility if it isn't one.... A noisy district in the early morning as it was the show selling zone with lots of manufacturing going on. It made it fascinating to us, but we used earplugs. A lot of noisy clattering up and down the stairs every day around 4am, shift changes maybe? Perhaps some workers lived there?

Close to the old city centre, good beds, and they have a nice roof terrace that overlooks the sea side (south). It's so noisey and run down. For starters i received a key for a room that had other peoples stuff still in it. After a quick room change, my new room had a window that literally was falling out of the wall. The TV isn't hooked up to a signal or wifi, so you can't do anything with it at all except watch your reflection. The shower didn't produce hot water for the first couple days, barely got warm, although this could just mean that there is one central boiler and other people just used up the hot water, but still its not good. The roof tarrace is cool but you can't see much except crumbling rooftops. The rooms also have paper thin walls, ceilings and doors and could hear everything, including the staff talking at 6am in the morning, even worse on three days they had the amazing idea to play elevator music in the lobby, but you could hear that throughout the hotel the entire night, so bring earplugs. The weirdest part is they use double sided sticky tape for the door numbers, and they kept falling off the wall in the middle of the night, resulting in a massive bang at 1 or 2am two nights. Also during week days its nonstop traffic in front of the hotel, so you 'll get woken up at 7am like clockwork from all the cars and people talking right, it's not double pane glass, its single pane with a gap, so you hear everything on the street as if its next to your ear.

Nothing An utmost horrible experience staying at Valeria Antique 1894. While its location is indeed central, the hotel is situated in the middle of a shoe-manufacturing and reparing district. This is why there is a pervasive glue smell in the room. The odor is yet more overwhelming when coming back from a walk. This raises concerns for health and safety. In addition to the smell, there are several unresolved maintenance issues in the room that we have brought to the staff’s attention, without resolution until the end of our stay, i.e. for the next 3 nights. Among the issues are a leaking shower/tap, dysfunctional lamp fixtures and sockets, safety box not closing, balcony door not closing, dirty bedsheets).  We communicated these issues to the staff and they assured us that technicians would come later during the day. No one came for the next 3 days despite our written reminders. We even had to open a dispute via Booking.com The staff denied all the claims giving false excuses via email in spite of knowing that we had written and factual proof. There is no staff at the reception no matter the time of the day. The only time we managed to catch someone and communicate the problems was thanks to the cleaning lady who called the guy. He came, was rather rude in his answers and left the things as they were. Otherwise reception is left without surveillance, sometimes even with open entrance doors. The photos of the rooms on Booking.com are too flattering : the hotel is old, the floor makes cracking sound when you walk and the bed as well whenever you want to change sides while sleeping. The rooms are not sound proof. WC and shower have been integrated into the room as a stand alone separate black box. I definitely not recommend this hotel to anyone.

The only positive aspect is that most of the attractive locations in the Sultanahmet area are nearby. My reservation was confirmed 10 days in advance, but upon my arrival, I was informed that my room had been given to someone else and that they could either refund me or move me to another hotel. Since it was late, I had no choice but to accept the alternative accommodation. The hotel is located in an area surrounded by small shoe factories and is quite noisy. The conditions in the room are far from decent—water is leaking from the upper floor, the bedding is dirty with lipstick stains on it, and there are many other issues.

I couldn’t even get in due to the door being wrapped with cable and a red tag notice which I’m assuming meant for closure as no one answered and it looked abandoned. lost money thanks to this. disappointed.

The room is compact but comfortable with good and complete facility. There was AC with heating function,working fridge, private bathroom and shower with hot water. Location is not far from the light rail station Beyazit and Grand Bazaar which is excellent. The bathroom is nicely tiled in gold colour, if you love gold colour or fancy style bathroom you will like the design as I did. Overall, it is comfortable for my stay. Wished we stayed a little longer. Although location is good, there is still some walking distance (+5-6 minutes) to actual hotel. If you are backpacking or with light luggage it is great. If you have many luggages, it might be challenging as the terrain slopes down/up. Going down hill from the Grand Bazaar and upfill towards the direction of the Grand Bazaar. Hotel do not have any lift, only staircase which is in a spiral design made of wood(beautiful classic design) . They put mini carpets on each of the steps which in my opinion is not a smart idea as one can slip and trip over these mini carpet mats. I had to literally concentrate on the stairs to avoid any accident or mishap.
