We arrived at 8:30 AM to drop our bags and they allowed us to check in. Unheard of in the States. They arranged airport transfers. The breakfast was lovely. Staff was so helpful.

The staff made a big difference. They were attentive and helpful specially the doorman. The room were very quite and very clean.

I like the location and the breakfast. The staff were very helpful. The bathroom faucets were difficult. The gym was very limited.

Everything was amazing. Especially the fact that I have trouble sleeping and the courtyard facing room was VERY quiet! The catering service they use for room service is poor quality.

The location was convenient, and the amenities added an extra level of comfort that made the visit even more enjoyable. It’s clear that the team takes pride in creating a positive guest experience. It could have been clean, especially the washroom.

Hotel staff were extremely responsive. Requests for items to be sent to room, such as extra bottles of water, dishes, or towels, were completed very rapidly. On two occasions, staff provided bag lunches when early morning sightseeing tours forced us to depart before breakfast serving hours .. . showing great mush-appreciated flexibily. Regular hotel restaurant breakfast was excellent. In case it's not obvious, the better rooms don't have outside-looking windows to any street. Rooms rather have large, patio door-size windows overlooking a very fashionable, stylish inner courtyard. It's a matter of personal preference as to whether this an issue: my wife hated not being able to see outside, but our two twenty-something sons loved it. (But maybe have one-way looking glass so guests can see out but lobby/other rooms can't see you? Yes, there are opaque curtains, but the lobby/neighboring rooms are very close so privacy feels more compromised than normal.) Hotel extremely well situated in city center. Five-minute walk not only to Hagia Sophia, but to lively business center streets in opposite direction. Easy, close access to city tram lines (once you are brave enough to figure out the service). We found neighborhood safe to walk around late at night. Again, very friendly, open, accommodating staff. Facilities very new, modern, Western and in excellent repair. Highly recommend despite annoyances noted below. Limousine pickup and departure to airport (both ways) was an absolute disaster. Staff sent last-minute airport pickup location changes which, while we appreciate were well-intentioned, weren't seen until after we arrived. We spent needless hours looking for the correct pickup location after a tiring 10-hour flight. Airport departure limousine was 45-60 minutes late. Why? On a seemingly small, relatively minor matter: the room lighting switches were unfathomable! We spent an inordinate amount of time trying to figure out how to turn on desk/table room lights without turning on overhead ceiling fixtures. Repeatedly woke up my wife with blasting, sun-intensive-like lighting at midnight when I only wanted a bed stand night light. Yes, we did ask hotel staff for help, but still couldn't repeat their confusing instructions after they left. Yes, agree this is a sort of throw-away complaint, but became a source of extreme, ever-growing annoyance. Shouldn't be rocket science to turn on room lighting. To repeat, we would return and still highly recommend the hotel despite these inconveniences.

I was very unwell due to surgery when I checked in and I was taken care of like I wasnt a stranger but as a sister, a daughter or friend. I love the location and would definitely go back.

This is my third stay at FER Hotel and my time spent there has always played a major role in the quality of experience that I've enjoyed as a traveler to this remarkable city. It's location could not possibly be more convenient and accessible to all the primary historical and scenic venues. I often go out for long, pre-dawn walks to experience the extraordinary, ordinary drama of the city waking beneath the spectacular sunrise light and The FER Hotel's location within minutes of the Bosphorus, bridges, mosques and markets make each of these adventures unique, convenient and unforgettable. The reception and support staff are excellent. The rooms are comfortable and well-appointed but offer only interior visual access to the atrium and not Istanbul's spectacular cityscape, so one can feel somewhat "disconnected" at times until stepping outside the front door. There was also a splendid breakfast layout provided which was particularly enjoyable after the above mentioned morning walks. I would also like to express my respectful gratitude and delight with the hostess of the breakfast venue. She was always friendly, attentive and made one feel welcomed, recognized and valued as a repeat guest. She was a bright star and a true asset to the hotel's allure. I look forward to returning to Istanbul in the future and I'll certainly be staying once again at The Fer. Highly recommended!! The gym could be a bit better equipped.
