Maroon Hotel Pera

Conveniently located close to major thoroughfare Istiklal (but not too close). Room was spacious with a large comfy bed, mostly quiet with light street noise (except Saturday night), good room and bathroom lighting, black-out curtains (essential if room is at front of building which mine was), credenza and closet for items, nice bathroom with walk-in shower, and sitting area. Breakfast buffet included an assortment of sweet and savory items plus fruit juice, coffee and tea beverages. Polite and efficient staff members. Housekeeping was spotty. Some days only one of two trash bins was emptied and bath mat was removed but not replaced. Room was at the front; beware that on Saturday nights, loud music coming from nearby pubs/cafes continues until early morning. I had booked a "room with city view" but my second floor room looked out onto the courtyard of the embassy across the street.

I didn’t mind it but there’s noise. What I really missed was a smart TV with an internet connection. The breakfast was mediocre at best.

This is the second time we stay in this hotel and we will never choose any other hotels, the location is perfect, the staff are so friendly and dealing with us like family, we feel really in home❤️ the room size is perfect for couples. I visited Istanbul so many times and this was the best hotel that I will never choose any other hotel again than this.

The hotel is in a central location and offers convenient access to public transportation, numerous shops, and restaurants. Galata Tower is a 15-minute walk, and Taksim Square is approximately a 10-minute walk away. The accommodations were satisfactory considering the price, and the staff, particularly Mihriban and Naci, provided us a nice and helpful service. We were a bit disappointed that the rear-facing balcony offered no view, only a wall with some greenery, and that the bathroom, especially the shower, was unclean. We also found the breakfast repetitive.

It was spacious, well equiped and the breakfast was delicious everyday! The appartment was on the third floor, I slept well and the place is in the Galata city center. Well connected to every part od Istanbul. My partner brought ear plugs for noise cancellation during the night, so you should prepare if you wake up easily.

I stayed here in 2020 and rated it highly for the service and accommodation received. The location is great. I was surprised with the decline of service and facilites. Staff mainly not speaking foreign languages, so I couldn't explain what the problem was. I was given a top floor room, lift is available to the floor below. The round stairs going to the room are too narrow and with nothing to hold on, so carrying anything is a safety hazard. The bathroom was dirty with mould, towels seemed washed but were full of stains. The sheets were burned by a cigarette presumably and also stained a bit. I got to an English speaking staff member on day two and found there were no rooms available to change at the time. I was offere to return midday to see if there were any cancellations, but had a planned schedule and could not return at that time. I'm normally really easy on the breakfast, but it was really disappointing. As a returning guest, I was very disappointed to be given this room, since the photos showed multiple rooms on the reservation and I could not see the specific room I reserved.
