I also enjoyed the Michelin-recommended Chinese restaurant in the hotel — the food was outstanding. here were a few disappointing points during our stay. During busy holiday periods, the breakfast service was understaffed. Waiting times were long, and sometimes we had to get up ourselves to order coffee. More staff during peak periods would make a big difference. We were also disappointed that no flexibility was offered regarding a room upgrade. The additional charge for a balcony room was very high. The bathroom fixtures showed signs of wear, which was unexpected considering the room rate. In addition, the advertised Bosphorus view was only partial, with much of the view facing the museum area and service facilities. Finally,as Shangri-La Circle members, we were informed that we could enjoy afternoon tea in the lounge. However, these items were later charged to our room, which was confusing and disappointing. Clearer communication from the staff would have been appreciated. These issues were not what we expected from a five-star hotel.

Breakfast, location, bar and salon and spa facilities. Staff very friendly and welcoming. View from balcony was described as partial Bosphorus view but in fact the view was fantastic. The only mirror in the room was the one in the bathroom. Hotel provided a make up mirror on request. Rooms a litle small but balcony made up for it. The hotel does not seem tooffer a turn down service as we would return at night and our beds were not made up nor new towels etc - a bit disappointing.

Great hotel -the name Shangri La speaks for itself... It is in a class of its own ! Very clean, staff being impeccable, comfortable beds, cozy room, a gourmet chinese restaurant, glamorous breakfast, the parking being top notch - what else could one dream of... It is obvious that the management and everyone from the staff is well prepared for his /her/ job. Thank you all, Shangri La staff ! Dimiter Nikolov

The locaton of the hotel and our room were excellent! We got what we asked for and more. The staff at the reception and concierge services were very attentive and thoughtful. We also enjoyed the spa and pool facilities. Thank you! none.
