Beautiful hotel in a beautiful setting -- our ample balcony was overlooking Parque de los Tecajetes. It was wonderful to wake up and look out into paradise. The room was large and ultra-comfortable. The staff at the front desk was always smiling, friendly, and helpful-- special praise for Arturo, who speaks impeccable English and helped me to plan our time in Xalapa. The hotel's restaurant, Sal y Piedra, is firstrate. Every morning, I enjoyed my favorite breakfast -- a large bowl of fruit with yogurt and granola, a cappuccino, and fresh orange juice. The menu has a wide variety of other choices. We ate dinner at Sal y Piedra one evening, and we thoroughly enjoyed fish fillet (robalo or bass) cooked in a banana leaf. The fish was ultra-moist, and the seasoning was exquisite!! DON'T MISS IT: Xalapa's Museum of Anthropology is worldclass and second to only the National Museum in Mexico City. Its Olmec collection, which includes colossal heads, the famous "La Lima" sculpture, pottery, masks, etc., is spectacular. The layout of the museum -- with its ascending platforms and garden spaces -- is inspired. ALSO: Xalapa is very close to Coatepec (coffee central) and Xico (amazing chocolate) and Naolinco (leather goods) -- all of which are pueblos magicos (magic towns). OUR RECOMMENDATION: Jarocho Trip's Pedro is the very best English-language guide to Xalapa and the region. You can reach Pedro at +52 228 111 9887. Pedro, who is a super driver as well as a super guide, provided us with two terrific days in Xalapa, Coatepec, Xico, Naolinco, small villages on the way, Texolo waterfall, etc. At the end of the tour, Pedro, who is an extraordinary musician (guitar and singing), treated us to a "son jarocho" concert in the Zocalo of Naolinco. That our stay was only for a few days!

The view and walk ability to everything in the center is very nice and I needed to disconnect and rest from a few days working here. As someone who needs trees and natural light, this place checked all the boxes. The beds are rock hard, be prepared to have some back pain in the morning and the jacuzzi does not exactly spout clean water so just bring Epsom salt and just soak in the tub if that is what you booked it for and just know the wifi is not the best, don't come here expecting to handle anything related to work...I

Our room was quiet and comfortable. The shower had lots of hot water, we had a nice view, and I appreciated the extra pillows, and complimentary water bottles.

Loved it! Would definitely stay there again!

The location overlooking the magnificent Paque del Tecajetes was superb. There's a music club in the neighorhood which begins playing loud rock-n-roll live music at midnight until 2 in morning or so....

Muy bonita vista
-
Really nice hotel with excellent views over the park The walls are very thin so you can hear almost everything in the neighboring rooms

Breakfast was reat on day, but no smorgasboard on day 2. For a coffee town, the espresso's on offer were of the same poor quality as the rest of the city. Minor niggle, but quite a surprise.

Great Room and attractive rate Location is poor. Restaurant close at 8:00 pm. Front desk staff are clueless

Location, rooms and staff. Hôtel restaurant was closed Monday to Friday. Semi open window in room at check in allowed rain water at night almost all the way to the bed. The last day, replaced sheets were still humid at night.

As with many other hotels, they use pillows that are so thick that they are not confortable. The quality of soap etc could be better, they offer no kleenex in the room. Everything is austere, but cleanliness is superb, its quiet, and the staff is friendly and professional.

I love the view of the park from the room, the room was spacious and very clean. staff was very nice too. Location was within minutes to downtown area driving. I can't think of anything.

The walls are made of paper - you can hear phones vibrating next door and every word people say. The bed was too firm for my taste. Breakfast doesn’t start until 8.30!

Impossible to sleep well in this hotel. Every night we have music until 1 or 2 am. Definitely, I don't recommend this hotel
