Super comfy pillows and mattresses. It was so nice to have the view of the mountains and access to the old town when it was less crowded as the day trippers left. This is steps away from the old street and I had a wonderful stay.

The bathroom was a bit too small

Very easy location. Just off the bus stop at Jiufen old street. The upper deck has amazing views.

This property was in a great location in Jiufen, just off the old street with clean comfortable rooms and amazing staff!

The staff is really professional and helpful, they gave great instructions on how to find the place via WhatsApp. The location is pretty good, nearby the old street, but far enough to run away from the crowds and noise. However, be prepared to climb up some stairs. They provided clean sheets, towels and slippers, the bed itself was comfortable, the room has an air conditioner, fan and de-humidifier. First of all, what I expected was a normal window, as there was no mention of it as well as no pictures showing it, however, the window was pointing to the corridor and not to outside. This was very disappointing, as during the daytime very little light comes in the room and during the night there will be lights coming from the corridor, which is a problem with those who have a difficulty falling asleep. Furthermore, there was no option to open the window. Second of all, there was some gadget in a room that was buzzing with no option to turn it off. I am very sensitive to lights and sounds, therefore this made my night sleep very difficult. Staff also leaves at 7 pm, so I could not ask them about this. The room does not have a wardrobe or some kind of cabinet, so one needs to put all their stuff on a table, chair and/or floor. Finally, the shower was questionable, there was no dedicated shower area or at least a curtain to prevent the water getting everywhere in the bathroom - it is literally just a showerhead connected to a wall in the middle of the room between the sink and the toilet. Floors could also be cleaner.

The arriving to the property is very difficult.

This inn is in a fantastic location, right off of the historic street, but far enough away that it was quiet and didn't feel busy. We were able to easily reach it from the bus station and were able to walk everywhere we wanted to go while staying here. The rooms were basic, but comfortable and had everything we needed. The staff were friendly, filtered water was available, and the building had a great rooftop view looking over the town and coastline.

The shared bathroom showerhead was in the middle so it's not possible to keep toilet dry for later use.

Advertising pictures look much better than reality. Bathroom ceiling was dripping.

The location was very convenient...just right off of Jioufen Old Street. The uphill staircased path is perfect for sporty types wanting some exercise on their vacation. Two of us stayed in the 2 Bedroom Suite and it was so spacious and so comfortable. The bathroom was a bit old fashioned and worn, but clean. The housekeeping was excellent. The insulated water pitcher and mugs provided was very useful. The front desk staff was adequately competent...but their frequent absence and curt manner of fact attitude seemed to be at odds with my higher expectation of this being a somewhat nicer hotel than others in the area. (I am guessing that perhaps it is due to understaffing or inefficient work duties. My suggestion is that perhaps housekeeping duties should be split between staff so the front desk is always manned during business hours...and not closed simply because all the staff is busy cleaning the rooms. Just my two cents.) Also...here is no wheelchair access nor non-staircase access for people not accustomed to frequently handling luggage bags up and down staircases.

Super clean, great location right off the main street! Crazy good view too!

I'd probably just do a hostels and just save the dollars.

You have to walk through Jiufen Old Street then very steep stairs, only to find more steep stairs in the property.

Location was great, staff was very easy to communicate with. The property photos are highly misleading. Online, the rooms appear modern, pristine, and showcase stunning views. The reality was quite different. The windows were heavily dimmed, making it impossible to enjoy any view. Upon check-in, staff explicitly instructed us—both verbally and in writing—not to open the windows under any circumstances, as mosquitos and other insects would enter the room. While the windows did have netting, we were informed that bugs would still penetrate through it. Essentially, we paid a premium for a room with a view, but were left with obscured windows that we were forbidden to open. The advertised views were inaccessible and you felt you were boxed in.

The ambiance of the property matches its name, "nostalgic inn". Located right in the center of Jiufen, easy to walk around and still quiet at night. The view is remarkable. The only inconvenient part was the stairs we had to take with all our luggage. I recommend traveling light when coming here. We don't eat in Jiufen very often, but take a bus to Riu fang food court, which offers a variety of f&b options at more affordable prices. No elevator in the house or on the way, which is understandable cuz it's uphill

I think the place is overpriced.

The location is great, right inside the Jiufen Old Street area. The place has a cozy, homely feel and is very clean. The staff were helpful, sharing useful information about food, transport, and nearby attractions. The location is on a hill and requires climbing some stairs, which can be a bit challenging for travelers with large or multiple pieces of luggage.

Entire bathroom floods for several minutes after a shower. Turns out there is a special drain for insects which is good I guess, but a shower stall would be great. Manageable for the price.
