The rooms where the Gym is also sutuated could have been made sound proof cos of guest who actually want to sleep in longer in the morning.

Great reception and clean rooms. Good restaurant and food. Nothing

The room is good has has good view of South of kampala city, especially at night, the view is amazing. I asked the hotel to fix the light-bulb and they failed to do it till I left.

The staff were all very helpful, friendly and so welcoming! While the location may be central, there are lots of disturbances late in the evenings and early mornings from vehicles especially boda bodas (motorbike taxis), matatu buses. Therefore, I will not recommend the hotel for a romantic vacation! Not all the TV channels are working

The Hotel is a very nice one located in a very good area close to downtown. You can find good restaurant, shopping places and transport nearby.

I had an absolutely fantastic experience. The place was incredibly clean, well-maintained, and had a welcoming atmosphere. What stood out the most was the kind and attentive staff. I was comfortable and had everything I needed. From check-in to check-out, everything ran smoothly. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Kampala and looking for a relaxing, high-quality stay!

Russell Hotel may not boast the flashiest facilities, but what it lacks in modern flair, it more than makes up for with its outstanding staff. Attentive to every whim, they elevate the experience beyond expectations. The breakfast, though limited in selection, is enjoyable—especially their fantastic cappuccino. Rooms are spacious, with beds and pillows that offer decent comfort. The hotel's location is right in the heart of the action—bustling and lively—though not ideal for families with young children, as there are no kid-friendly amenities. On the plus side, the restaurant serves up delicious meals at unbeatable prices, making dining here a true highlight. The WiFi was a bit spotty in some areas of the hotel, which was frustrating—definitely something that could use a little attention. Also, having coffee packets in the rooms alongside the tea would have been a simple but much-appreciated touch for caffeine lovers. As for the bathroom showers, the fixed design isn’t exactly friendly for taller guests. The hotel’s location is in a lively area, so don’t expect complete peace and quiet. Also, the lingering COVID-19 posters with reminders like "put your mask on" and "stay six feet apart" felt outdated and out of place.

The toilet had some foul smell. The room was next to the gym hence the noise from the music was quite a nuisance.
-
Central location was what I needed but not noisy while staying in the room. The staff were friendly and helpful. It seemed like the well organised hotel. Currency exchange rate direct to the hotel was not good.

Staff on desk and serving at breakfast were really lovely and helpful Big clean rooms Despite not asking for room to be cleaned, beds were stripped of towels and linen around 11am and not put back on until nearly 6pm. This meant we could not shower or relax in our room after a long sweaty day walking round Kampala. I asked if this could be expedited (I'd even put the linen on myself!) but its still took more than two hours waiting in the lobby for this to happen. On leaving, staff were unfamiliar with Booking.com and claimed the overall price was actually the price per night. I explained how it worked and we got it sorted but we were made to feel that we were short-changing the hotel through their unfamiliarity.
