I wanted a place that invited me to participate in Japan rather than consume it. I find that I can only get that at a Ryokan and provided everything I was looking for There was nothing that I didn't like about it

The best stay we have had in our Japan trip! We wanted a traditional Japanese hotel experience and I feel like we got so much more. The staff was super kind and helpful, the house is well preserved and decorated - it truly feels like walking back in time. It had everything we needed and it very well located, close to shops, restaurants and bus stops. Could not recommend enough!!!!

Very clean facility with nice employees willing to help. Two semi-private soaking tubs to use. Great location in town. This hotel is a very traditional Ryoken with shared bathrooms. No sinks or toilets in the rooms so was a new experience for us. Our room was dark with missing light bulbs and our pillows didn’t have pillow cases.

Retro luxury in a central location. They were very accommodating to all of our needs.

It was beautifully clean and presented. The futon was the comfiest I’ve slept on, far more than more expensive Ryokans! The shared Japanese bath was amazing, so hot and perfect to get a good nights sleep Nothing

    Traditional

It was so beautiful and had such a charming feel. The old architecture style is rare to see, and to get both a garden and onsen was an amazing bonus! Onsen wasn’t open all night, even though it was just a private bathing room.

Not very expensive unlike other ryokans. Great value for money, has a hot bath. Location is very good! I would prefer a private bathroom (it was a bit of a walk to the bathroom) but otherwise, everything was great

    Very comfortable room

Very traditional Japanese style hotel. They don’t have slope and stairs. Only public bathroom and shower rooms.

Beautiful traditional rooms with the paper wall dividers. We were greeted with complementary tea in our room for us to enjoy at the table in front of the beautiful courtyard. The bathrooms are shared, and traditional Japanese style. In the morning, it had started to snow which really added to the magical experience.

It is a very unique place - a historic Japanese guest house. It is located in the center of the city, a walking distance from major attractions, cafes, and restaurants. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The tatami beds were very comfartable to sleep on.

    Excellent room and location!

After the children and babies came to the room next door, I asked to leave. The owners gave me my money back. I had a tiny room. The window was faced a brick wall. If you opened the window, there was the sound of a loud condenser or generator from the big hotel next door. I was told there would not be breakfast because the cook had a cold. I was in a room with very thin walls next to another room. There were young children running up and down the hall in front of my room. There was a baby crying in the next room 3 feet from my head.

It was a very cozy stay and the staff were so kind and accommodating

While the traditional Japanese accommodations were fun to experience, the futon bedding was extra soft, which we appreciated compared to others with more traditional futon bedding (hard). In addition to public unisex baths, they also offer a lockable coed private bath area, which we enjoyed. Hotel staff were extra courteous and professional.

both the guest rooms and shower rooms were lovely. an incredibly serene place to stay right in the heart of Kanazawa.

We loved the location and family feel

  • Engine customer Sep 2025

Such kind staff and very clean! Probably just shared bath but we knew this going in. It was super clean though.

Very traditional with shared toilets and bath. Lovely for a change, but I would not want to stay more than a night. Location and staff were great. Older and the shared bath spaces. Power options for recharging were scarce.
