Hotel Vista Kanazawa

Public bath rooms are fairly spacious for Japanese standards The price of the hotel dropped like 45% for the same period and same room type after the free cancellation period ends. I searched all over Kanazawa it feels like the city itself is not that full. If you are bold enough I suggest you book 1 week or less toward your staying dates on not so popular seasons

The hotel is less than a ten-minute walk from the station, but we arrived on a cold, rainy evening. They provided big umbrellas to borrow when we later walked to a restaurant, and when we returned it was so nice to warm up in the onsen! Although most Japanese hotel rooms are tiny, this one was at least large enough to include a desk and chair with enough room to sit there comfortably. We opted for the hotel breakfast buffet, and it was wonderful, with lots of choices representative of the area, like Kanazawa curry. The staff helpfully stored our luggage after check-out so we could sight-see before leaving town. Some navigation advice: If you are walking from Kazawa Station with luggage, it is easier to walk straight out of the West Gate and cross the intersection straight ahead, rather than following the bus loop to your left, which will lead you to underpasses that involve stairs. We were happy with the hotel.

Onsen

The room was very clean and new, with a separate bathroom and toilet design. The front desk staff were friendly and professional. The check-in process was a bit complicated and required quite a lot of paperwork and information.

Staff was very friendly and helpful. Only needed a short wait to check in early. The room was very big and clean. Enjoyed the separate shower and toilet rooms. Only a short walk from the Kanazawa train station. Great price and value. A little bit of a walk from most of the major areas I wanted to visit in the city.

Location, cleanliness, spacious

Great location, close to the station, comfortable bed, and quiet, good on site Ofuro. There’s a convenience store nearby and plenty of coin parking around. Good value in the off-season. Kind staff. Unfortunately, my room smelled like a smoking room whenever the air conditioning was on, so I couldn’t use the aircon during my stay. The bathroom had a persistent odor, and even the air freshener didn’t help. There were no coffee or tea bags provided, and the breakfast was overpriced although it was a buffet. Also, the on-site parking is limited to small cars.

The temperature control only heat or fan, no air conditioning. The staff ration the amenities, everything must pick up from the checking counter.

This hotel was luxurious, it was very clean and the vibe/feel was very nice. Location is excellent, you can quite literally stand at the front of Kanazawa station and see the hotel, so it is about 5 mins from the hotel, and therefore extremely close to public transport. There was heaps of food places nearby, you can walk down the street a little and find lots of places to eat. The public bath is excellent as well, they give you a bag, slippers and lounge wear to wear while you go down the elevator to the bath. Nice and clean and good size, and the women bath has a special key card that they only give to women, so it is extremely safe. I wish all my hotels in Japan were like this one. Hard to believe that the stay was so cheap, felt like it was a $500/night hotel. There is literally nothing to complain about, the stay was amazing.

Great location, clean, comfortable, with complimentary lounge PJs to wear to their baths room. Luggage storage pre-post stay making it easy to tour sites after arriving, but before check in, and post check out to do more sightseeing before catching the train. All good, just finding the breakfast buffets in Japanese hotels are not quite to my tastes, but… when in Japan one must try to adjust the tastebuds and enjoy the differences.

Comfortable stay, nice hotel

Hotel management is not really helpful for calling the taxi to the station during the snow season. Also not clear the pathway around the hotel from snow.

The hotel is within walking distance of the JR station. Facilities are clean and beautifully presented. The bath facilities are clean and have both a sit-down and a lay-down tub. Got their breakfast with my stay. They have a good spread of both Western and Asian cuisine options. Only stayed one night for a short visit, but would definitely stay here again.

One of my favourite hotels during my 25 day trip! Service was efficient, helpful and kind. Price was very reasonable. Everything was clean and I suspect new. Beautiful artwork in the room and outside. Comfortable beds and has a nice onsen too, with an amazing variety for breakfast including veggies. I stayed for 2 breakfasts but could have continued with their breakfast. Nothing.

The staff are friendly and accommodating. The location is near great restaurants. There are very few places you can hang your clothes and stuff. I did not like that the floor towel was hanging with the bath/body towel at the bathroom door. They need to add an appropriate place for different kinds of towels. No luggage rack for opening your luggage.
