Swisstel Cottage

I booked this property with the expectation of staying in a hotel, based on the way it was advertised and presented online. However, upon arrival, I found that the accommodation more closely resembled a guest house than a hotel, which was not consistent with my expectations when making the reservation. As a result, I chose not to proceed with my stay. I believe the property's description should be more accurate and transparent regarding the type of accommodation being offered, so that potential guests can make informed booking decisions. Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing and did not match my expectations.

First, I was given a dirty room, and my friend had a room without warm water. My friend checked out, and I was given a reasonable room. overall facility

I loved the calm atmosphere, cozy setting, and the way Swiss Cottage makes you feel relaxed the moment you walk in The shower temperature wasn’t consistently warm.

I have always been staying with them for the past 5 years but this time it was horrible. I only liked the location which is central and close to the companies I need to visit. The room was dirty, there was no wardrobe. They bought one portable one upon my complain. The washroom had water pressure issues, there was air in the pipes which was splashing water all over, even after my complaint the plumber came and the issue was still not resolved. I requested them to change my room but they could not do it. The WIFI did not come in the room, only signals available when you are near to the door of the room. I had to experience insects in the room and on the bed. The owner has just excuses and nothing more about all these issues. They gave me a discount of 10K PKR on the total of bill of 132K PKR for my stay but this does not help or cover the issues i faced and had a horrible stay.

Its cozy and has everything you’d need for a quick work trip.

Staff kept calling 5times for room confirmation, i on first call said i wll checkin late night. Mid night they called me and ask if i can go to thier other property. I was not expecting this. I said no. I booked this one i wll stay here.

Location is excellent. Practically across the road from Dolman Mall. Also there are several excellent cafe's and restaurants around the property. Staff was very courteous and helpful as well. Gave me early check-in and slightly late check-out without even asking any quetions. Its marketed on Booking.com as a 5-Star location in reality it was not even a 2-Star. Even on Google Maps it is mentioned as a 3-Star location so Booking.com must verify the properties to acurately market them on their site. Its a bit misleading and can result in negative reviews like this for the property. I wouldnt be so harsh if it was marketed acurately and not as 5-Star. Its a villa converted into a guest house but requires major renovation and cleaning. Room was dirty and bathroom was full of mold. Sink was not draining and exhaust fan was making so much noise that you cant even hear the TV when its on. Also the bedding and towels were very old and had stain marks all over. TV was a small one with spotted screen and was barely visible. There was no sound proofing either so anyone who walks outside the door makes you awake. There was a dog continuously barking outside as well at night. Wifi was OK but at times just disconnected all of a sudden. Thankfully had just one night to spend and it was just a few hours sleep that was required so I survived but otherwise it was not worth it.

Nothing . This isn’t a hotel . Horrible service , dirty moldy bathroom. They do not provide Shampoo nor soap unless you insist . THE WORSE PART IS THAT THEY LAUNDER MONEY To avoid paying taxes . They only take $100 USD bills and give you Local currency back . If you don’t pay the way they want , They call an ARMED PERSON TO THREATEN YOU WITH, ridiculous thing . I will report them to Turism and government offices for their ABUSE TO CLIENTS and The hotel should inform clients on these matters at the time of booking . Im a WORLD TRAVELER ( 131 Countries visited ) and I can say this hotel stay was the only negative moment during my 12 days in BEAUTIFUL PAKISTAN .

Western standards of cleanliness and hygiene. Fantastic service day and night. Excellent bed and bedding, duvet pillows. Spotlessly clean and high quality. Ample hot water. Tea coffee in room. Highly recommended. Even when I missed breakfast, at 12pm they brought me an omelette and milk drink and toast with jams and butter. Location is excellent. I liked everything.

From the very start, our experience at Swisstel Cottage was exceptional. Awais, the Front Desk Manager, went above and beyond to ensure our comfort, even offering us an upgrade to make our stay extra special. He made sure we had everything we needed to enjoy our trip in Karachi, arranging additional services and going out of his way to make us feel happy and satisfied. Awais was an absolute gem—attentive, kind, and incredibly thoughtful. Not only did he cater to all our needs with a warm smile, but he also provided excellent recommendations for local attractions and dining, booked rides for us, and even brought us medication late at night when we fell ill, complete with an energy drink to help boost our immunity. His cheerful greetings and personal care made us feel truly welcome, setting a new standard for hospitality. The entire staff was fantastic. Ghaffar, the night guard, was always welcoming and made us feel safe and secure. Tariq, Saleem, Qaiser, Sunny, and Mukhtiar were wonderful—consistently going above and beyond to ensure our comfort. They made sure our breakfasts were perfect every morning, even accommodating us at odd hours. They never let us lift a finger, assisting with heating food and carrying items back to our room with genuine kindness and respect. The hotel itself was spotless, secure, and very well-managed, with CCTV surveillance and dedicated day and night guards. The added convenience of a driver service made our stay even smoother. Over just a few days, we became attached to the staff, who treated us like family. It was hard to leave, as we felt we were saying goodbye to newfound friends. Swisstel Cottage has now become our go-to place whenever we visit Karachi. With such amazing service, kind-hearted staff, and a secure, welcoming environment, it offers everything you could want in a hotel stay. Highly recommended—thank you to Awais and the entire team for making our trip unforgettable! There was absolutely nothing I didn’t like about the property—it was fantastic overall. If I were to make one small suggestion, it would be to address a few minor issues in the washroom, such as the flush button and shower head, which were slightly broken. Other than that, everything was perfect!
