Triple A rating for this hotel. Lovely staff and very helpful especially the guy who took as to the shopping area. This is one of the best hotels we have stayed at and being I guess a bit out of season very reasonable value for you travelling dollar (Yen). We will definitely come back here in another season.

Great breakfast, good location. Lots of seating in lobby. Staff are super friendly. Needs updating, needs better cleaning and maintenance, room was smelly due to ac never being serviced / cleaned. No wifi info provided by staff only 4g in area. Pretty dark throughout grounds. Tries to be jack of all trades with marriage service , banquet, hotel. Beds and bedding are very old and need to be replaced.

The decoration of the hotel is very western traditional and also very fine and elegant. Breakfast has a very Austrian feel with Mozart/Beethoven and Bach music accompanying your every bite. The food itself in the restaurant is delicious - I actually liked the preset meals that you can choose, because everything was done to perfection with utmost attention to detail. The rooms were very comfortable. Even though it was pretty cold outside we felt very warm and cozy in our rooms, probably the best in 5 accommodations we've been in Japan so far. The interior of the rooms is a bit aged, you can see this in the bathroom, but everything still pretty good and clean.

The breakfast was excellent in Taste, Materials. The staff were at high standard in hospitality with top notch service mind & commitment. They think customer centric with flexibility & adaptability to meet our expectations. There were no shuttle bus services during weekend.

Lovely main bar area and nice surroundings- shuttle bus available for trips to the station and shopping area - large rooms. Staff were very helpful and friendly Rooms are older style and TV has no streaming or non-Japanese stations.

I absolutely loved this hotel and its rustic charm! The vibe of this place is indescribable. The bar was great, I absolutely loved the fireplace area. The ala carte breakfast was delicious! The room was so spacious and clean. The staff knew english very well and were very friendly. Steve was so delightful and helped us with the checkin. The whole experience was just amazing and made our trip to Kariuzawa more perfect.

The staff was great and very helpful! The place has a chapel, making it more suitable for the holidays. The lobby is cozy. The place is classic. The place is very Christmas-sy. Kids hope to have Netflix access.
