Staff - amazing. Room - comfortable and large. Location - perfectly located between old town and the Shinkansen station. The bathroom was the least amazing part of the room, but that's not to say it was bad. It just wasn't up to the bathrooms in the other hotels I stayed at. But this is nitpicking and should not be taken too seriously.

the staffs were really helpful and polite.

No elevator to my room

Even though this was one of the cheapest hotel options in Karuizawa's center, the price was high, especially for the quality of the accomodation. The hotel is old, rooms would merit refurbishment, there is a smell of old wood inside. In my room one of the walls was covered by something that looked like mold (but it could have been dirt, as well, I was too disgusted to check). The bathroom was super tiny and difficult to navigate; not enough space for toiletries.

Very good

Good full western breakfast of bacon, eggs, sausage and salad. Room description was accurate down to the last square meter. If you people want more space, stay in another hotel and pay more. This is a quality old-school hotel, not a hipster joint for people from S-E Asia looking for a bargain or discounts. Area has many great restaurants and cafes. It’s a tourist town with somewhat cooler weather than Tokyo.

Very recommendable for a short stay.

Staff was super helpful and friendly. Place was at a very decent price for its location, which was less than 10 minutes walk from the station and shopping area. Bathrooms were a little dated but still very clean.

A lovely little hotel in a beautiful location

Very calm location, just off the main street. Clean rooms Staff could not communicate in English, very loud heater, annoying ambiance music in the corridors for no reason.

The room smelled really wet and musty on our first night.

I like the scenic road towards the hotel and when you reach the hotel looks so charming. All the amenity and PJ makes the room feels spa like. Staff are friendly and helpful. Its about 10mins walk to the hotel but it gives me opportunity to explore the local shops and restaurants. Will be awesome to consider shuttle service from the train station.

Everyone inside the hotel has to change to slippers in order to keep the place clean Strong heater made the room very dry. Considering the price, we expected to have more facilities and better breakfast.

The hotel receptionist: was friendly and accommodating. The bed: was very comfortable. The location: was convenient, just a few minute walk to Kyu Karuizawa and Karuizawa station. We will definitely stay here again in the near future. :) It was an old hotel but it was well-maintained that’s why I liked it. The only thing I didn’t like was the price, it was relatively expensive. But what do you expect? It’s located in the heart of Karuizawa :) And also, I know that because of pandemic some hotels are cost-cutting on toiletries but it would’ve been nice if you provide bottles of shampoo, conditioner, and body soap in the bathroom. Thank you! :)
