Hotel Darwin

I recently stayed at Hotel Darwin, a tourist-standard hotel, and I was pleasantly surprised by the experience. From the moment I walked in, the staff made me feel welcomed and attended to every need with a genuine smile. The rooms were cozy, clean, and equipped with all the essentials for a comfortable stay. For those looking for an affordable yet comfortable stay, Hotel Darwin is a fantastic choice. The service is top-notch, the location is perfect, and the value for money is exceptional. I highly recommend it to any traveler seeking a pleasant.

Bathroom was way too small. Shower got the whole room wet when turned on. Entire place stunk of incense because they were burning it in the lobby. Very little soaps provided, despite staying multiple days. Toilet paper was provided instead of tissues. I had a view from windows of the street, when I booked a balcony with mountain view. 4 floors high and no elevator.

The hotel was so unique because of the roof garden. Also loved the decor details, every room had its unique handels, it was a nice mix of traditional bits and the modern look.

I had a wonderful stay at Hotel Darwin in Kathmandu. What I loved most was the homely atmosphere – it felt like a perfect blend of an apartment and a hotel. Despite being close to Thamel, the hotel provided a peaceful place. The rooftop was a highlight, offering wonderful views. Starting my mornings with a delicious cappuccino and breakfast was a nice experience. The tranquility of the place made it a perfect haven. Moreover, the staff were incredibly accommodating, responsive, and lovely throughout my stay. Highly recommended for a memorable Kathmandu experience. Many places around the area tend to close early in the evening. Therefore, I recommend having an early dinner in the neighborhood or elsewhere such as Thamel.

Everything! This place is beautiful and positioned just outside of busy Thamel so you get peace at the end of the day. The family is lovely and especially like their friendly dog and rabbit. The hotel has beautiful art and is decorated beautifully. The room was big and had a beautiful feel about it! Loved my stay and will be back when I am in Kathmandu again! I was provided breakfast in my room every morning which was a lovely surprise. There are traditional Nepalese restaurants near by that are cheap and have good food. Nothing,

The warm touch of decorations made me feel home and the owner was quick to respond to my requests. The family rooms are facing the roads and are brighter and spacious. For the price, it's decent! The showerhead in the bathroom wasn't working well, with thin streaks of water shooting in all directions. There was also no proper ventilation system in the bathroom, so it smelled a bit. All the plants in the room are plastic and they are quite dusty. Wished they were real plants!

The hotel has perfect location and it's very nice and clean. The bed was really comfortable. The staff were extremely helpful and nice. The owner came with me in the pharmacy to help me get the correct medications. Also, Simba (the dog) was so friendly and cute :)

The room is so cozy, well decorated and so comfortable bed. Bathroom is also nice. Is not located in the City center but you can walk there 20 minutes. Staff are friendly. There is an ATM just next to the door. I was in an outside single room and it was really noisy because of the place is located in a main road with a lot of traffic even in the night, so you have to use earplugs, there are also double rooms that don't face the main road. The room smelled to tobacco a lot! I told them and I hope they give a solution.

The staff is very friendly and even asked on which floor I wanted to stay. I think it's a family run business and the place feels like it. The location is great - directly next to the busy Tamel area, but not directly in it. The hotel has a nice roof terrace. I arrived in the evening and the staff offered to order food for me which was super nice and convinient. I stayed at the 3. floor because I thought I'll have a nice view- turned out a) that my window faced a wall and b) that the kitchen is on 4th floor and that it's a bit noisy.
