Lovely quiet area, and cheap and tasty breakfasts :) very clean and spacious room. Would definitely come back! Free water was on offer in reception although the container ran out on our first day and wasn't replaced. Only a tiny thing though, overall we had an excellent stay!

I like the location, very close to thamel but in a very quiet corner. I've been there more than ten times in ten years so I have good memories about that place. Staff changed and was a little annoying and made me uncomfortable. They changed their menu, very sad so I had breakfast there just once (it was less then average) and you didn't had any options (some time ago you had!). Some year ago they had a open fridge where you can put stuff or take drinks (sure, you have to pay) what gave that place a relaxed feeling, they don't have it anymore. They had a beautiful garden but they decided to make a big path of stone just through it and build some small dining cabins, so the garden lost its tranquility and it feels uncomfortable, very sad.

The accommodation is very centrally located, Thamel can be reached on foot. We were able to cover all other sights within short distances by taxi. The staff is always friendly and always helped us if we had problems or questions. There is a contact person on site 24 hours a day. In addition, the food was very tasty and requests were catered for.

For a budget friendly travel, Kathmandu Garden House is perfect. The staff is professional, kind and treat us like family. They work hard to make our time in Kathmandu flawless. They were patient, explained the way to get around, prices we should expect, etc. The place is somehow calm and peaceful even if it’s just beside Thamel roads. They offer many possibilities for different trips, without any pressure and they understand that we are on a budget. The first room we got was small but with king size bed. We asked for a bigger room and they quickly gave us the one we wanted. Homemade meals are offered. Breakfast was 250 RS (2.50$ CAD). Tea, coffee, Nepalese tea and others are available. Nothing because they made it work. We didn’t really like the 1st room we got so they let us change room so it was perfect.

The owner was incredibly helpful! We are budget travellers, so the look of a place is not as important to us as staff helpfulness and proximity to travel needs (permits, etc). We thought both the look and the helpfulness were good for us. We arrived, and within less than 24hrs my husband had his trek booked and all arrangements made. This was absolutely wonderful for us. Babu was very good at finding out what was important to my husband, and connecting him with a couple of other like-minded trekkers for Manaslu. We were in Nepalfive years ago, both trekking, and we did all our own arrangements. Now we enjoyed the ease with which the staff completed what was needed. We sat in the garden having tea, and there was no running around like last time. We sure appreciated this! The only downside, and it is no fault if the hotel!, is that there is some construction happening nearby. I am a light sleeper, so this really affected me. My husband slept through it all. If you are a light sleeper, just bring good earplugs. We would stay here again.

Hotel staff were very friendly although we arrived late night. Location was perfect to take the bus. The shower didn’t work. Only few drops and No hot water.

I loved this place from the first minute. Absolutelly best staff! It is very friendly service, make you smile when you meet them. Accomodation is very comfortable and get exactly what you can see on photos. And some bonuses like Rooftop and very cute white dog are really make this place really chill spot =)

Set back from the main street in a cul de sac Kathmandu Garden House is in a quiet location with clean rooms and attentive, welcoming, helpful staff. Such a pleasant difference from when we previously stayed at a neighbouring guest house! The garden provides a tranquil atmosphere to the place with birds singing and is an attractive place to hang out... as are the cool table and chairs set in the hallways. The hotel is a little oasis of calm from the busy nearby streets and alleyways of Thamel.

They have a lovely garden area that is a nice refuge from the rush of Kathmandu. The bed was very comfortable and had particularly clean sheets which was nice.

Nice budget hotel. Didn’t provide any toiletries and bathroom was a bit dirty.
