Zuri Zanzibar

The hotel was exquisite, the rooms luxurious, breakfast was expansive, the staff were friendly and helpful and there were great activities on offer (sports, spa, yoga), I loved how quiet the Zuri stretch of beach was, the spa was wonderful! Could not fault Zuri on anything, it was wonderful!

Our stay was amazing—the facilities were outstanding and exactly as described, every detail was thoughtfully covered, and the service was exceptional throughout.

Zuri was the best stop after safari, the staff always made sure we were okay, we got the lush bungalow with a private jacuzzi, We could see the beach from our balcony. kudos to chef Darsan and the team at the maisha restaurant for accommodating our impromptu meal requirement. Breakfast buffet was 10/10 definitely going back soon. Thanks to Zhofia and the entire staff you'll are the best.

Excellent hotel, the best on Zanzibar. Big, clean, green territory- native forest has been preserved and there are lots of different birds living here, not only crowns, if you know, what I mean ;) Bungalows design is astonishing, you will stay in the room with great comfort and visual pleasure. Staff is very well trained and ready to help in any possible situation, you literally need to worry about nothing during your stay here - this is exactly what locals call “hakuna matata”. Internet connection is fast and stable. Clean, sandy beach and unforgettable sunsets.

The Zuri is the perfect place to unwind in Zanzibar, set on a beautiful stretch of beach surrounded by a lush, idyllic setting. The atmosphere is incredibly peaceful and tranquil, making it easy to fully relax from the moment you arrive. The rooms were spotlessly clean, tastefully decorated and very comfortable. The staff were consistently friendly, welcoming, and efficient throughout our stay. One of the true highlights was the food. I’m not usually a breakfast person, but I genuinely looked forward to it every morning. There was a large variety to choose from, and everything was fresh and delicious. Would definately want to come back. It’s hard to find any faults with the hotel. The only minor suggestion would be the addition of a few more evening activities or entertainment options.

I paid an average of USD 1,200 per night, and unfortunately this was one of the worst value-for-money hotel experiences I have had. Reception & Guest Handling Upon arrival, I informed reception that I might consider extending my stay, which was acknowledged. The following day, I was kept waiting for almost 40 minutes, only to be told that no room was available unless I paid an additional USD 200, as the same room category was no longer available. The way this was handled was unprofessional and unnecessarily wasted my time and energy. Extension was a must because of my trip related commitments and difficulties to change hotels otherwise I would diffidently change the hotel. Facilities & Power Supply Throughout my stay, the hotel suffered from frequent power outages, approximately 8–10 times per day. Electricity cuts occurred even while I was showering and while using the jacuzzi, which is unacceptable for a hotel at this price level and raises serious comfort and safety concerns. This was particularly disappointing, especially since other hotels in Zanzibar, such as The Mora, have reliable generator coverage and do not face such issues. Room Condition Insects were present inside the room, which is unacceptable for a property positioned as a luxury resort. Jacuzzi Experience The jacuzzi experience was frustrating, as power outages occurred three times while I was using it, resulting in wasted time and discomfort. Temperature & Comfort The hotel enforces a fixed room temperature of 24°C, citing environmental reasons. However, at the same time, the bed is positioned directly under an air outlet that blows cold air toward the head throughout the night. This combination made the room uncomfortable and negatively affected sleep quality. I did not expect to compromise my comfort or health in a hotel charging such premium rates. Final Impression س, the experience did not justify the price paid. Positive Note To be fair, some of the restaurant staff were polite, kind, and attentive, and their attitude was appreciated. Unfortunately, individual staff kindness could not compensate for the serious operational and service issues experienced throughout the hotel.

During my stay, the hotel suffered from repeated power interruptions throughout the day, including during showers and while using in-room facilities, which significantly affected comfort and raised safety concerns. The handling at reception was disappointing. I was asked to wait for an extended period regarding a possible extension, only to be informed later that availability was limited unless I agreed to a higher rate. The communication lacked clarity and professionalism. Room comfort was also below expectations. Insects were present, and the enforced temperature settings combined with direct airflow above the bed resulted in disturbed sleep. Overall, the hotel did not deliver the level of service, comfort, or reliability expected at this price point. Disappointing

Great people (friendly,helpful and well spoken in English), food (variety with different themes for dinner), property (forest vibe to forget about the concrete jungles we live in daily). Relaxing various locations on the property. Beach well controlled for hagglers. Nice large area for swimming in the ocean (blocked off area). That we didn't stay there longer!

i understand that hotel is located in the middle of the jungle but to have this experience in an expensive premium 5 star hotel like this one is totally unacceptable, the rooms should be inspected and cleaned properly before any guest stay to ensure this doesnt happen. I rarely write reviews of hotels or complain about issue, but this has reuined my stay, i was discussted throughout the day couldnt bare staying or stepping inside my room after what i saw.

Zuri was a lovely hotel with a incredible beach and pool! The facilities were lovely, and the staff were great. There was a great variety with the multiple restaurants and bars. We had an issue with our room, however, when we let the front desk know they worked hard to find us a new room despite it being busy.

Beach and design

Everything was exceptional. Location, rooms, staff, food, pool area, beach, facilities. Also appreciated that drinking water was included (both still and sparkling). Makes a big difference when it's hot. Nothing to mention. It was all perfect.

Great experience in the best location in Zanzibar Might need more staff

Loved the location on a pristine idyllic beach. The layout of the villas and cottages was just mesmerizing within the canopy of tree and thick foliage. So much so did not mind if it rained now and then as being in our place was just so amazing. Equally amazing were all the staff; they were polite, helpful and always attentive. The local culture made for a very homely and relaxing atmosphere around the resort which matches the best in Maldives and Seychelles. To top it all the food was always good from the breakfast buffet to the beachside lunches or the set menu during dinner. The massage in the spa was also very good. Things that could be looked at is updating the gym with more modern equipment. The set menu could be a bit more substantive ( under the guise of fine dining found it a bit underwhelming quantity wise ! - but I am reaching). The buffet breakfast end time maybe was followed too strictly with lights out in the buffet room at exactly 10:30am ! Finally, one thing to note ( and it’s not in the resort’s control) is that this is quite a long way from the airport ( about 90minute drive time ) which adds a bit of discomfort.

Amazing property. It was not crowded at all and I loved the sense of seclusion. Also loved the cottage I stayed in and the comfortable bed. I thought breakfast could be better for the standard of the property. Also felt like there were lots of people walking on the beach most of the time.

Beautiful beach and the staff were lovely. Very lovely bungalow room with an outdoor shower and jacuzzi! Pool could’ve been 2 degrees cooler just to be more refreshing in the heat! We found that the minibar fridge in our room wasn’t very cold.
