Lovely location, great pub, nice staff!!

The room provided - pet friendly - was not particularly nice. The furniture very dated, didn't match, old. Although bed comfy. Didn't feel it was worth £160 (£10 dog).

Loved the selection of ales and the friendly and helpful staff and owner. Shower was not relaxing as it had a tendency to slip around and splash the bathroom.

Perfect location for visiting the Yorkshire dales , no more than 40 minutes away from most of the must see places. The cooked breakfast was very tasty , fresh fruit would have been nice for those not wanting a cooked breakfast as the only alternative was cereal and yoghurt. We had a twin room overlooking the river which was beautiful, the room was plenty big enough for two people and a dog . Flat screen tv with plenty of channels, dressing table with plenty of drawers and adjacent electrical sockets which are very handy for hair dryer and phone charging. We dined at the hotel for the four nights we were there and had a very good meal each time especially the lamb stew and dumplings . All in all this is a hotel that exceeded our expectations especially the staff who went above and beyond to make our stay perfect . The bathroom is in need of refurbishment . Take your own shower gel and shampoo as the wall mounted dispensers are next to useless .

Superb dinner and breakfast at the Racehorses Hotel. A great selection of beers - this pub is classed as a Timothy Taylor Champion with 4 variants on draft and all excellently kept. The lamb curry was superb, as was the lamb stew. Well worth a visit
