Tropical Sunset Boutique Hotel

We had a wonderful stay, even though it was only for one night. The staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and always happy to help. The hotel’s location is excellent, right in the city center and close to everything. The food was absolutely delicious, and we truly enjoyed our experience. We would definitely stay here again. The only issues we experienced were that there was no hot water in the bathroom during our stay. There was also some noise from the generator, but this was due to a power issue affecting all of Zanzibar and was not related to the hotel itself. Another small inconvenience was that it took us some time to find the hotel entrance, as the exact location and entrance were not clearly indicated.

They took my clothes for laundry and they spoiled it I know the service from the laundry is external but again I will blame the hotel bcuz I gave it to them Two pants and one T-shirt they have blue mark all over!!!!!

We had a lovely stay at Zanzibar Tropical Sunset Hotel. The owner and staff were extremely kind, welcoming, and always helpful. The highlight of our stay was the owner’s generosity in upgrading us to his beachfront resort and restaurant, which made our experience even more special. The hospitality was excellent, and we truly felt well taken care of.

Everything about this property was good. I have no major complaints. We stayed in the honeymoon suite which was gorgeous by the way. The room had a/c and a roof fan. Shower was big enough for two people but no bath. Bed was comfortable, there a net to block out insects and mosquitoes but we didn’t really had any issues of such. There’s a mini fridge and room was spacious. There’s hot water. The breakfast was toast, Pancakes and eggs any style with juice tea and coffee. Our room was cleaned everyday. Staff is extremely welcoming. The Maasai guard was really friendly and I liked going to the restaurant when the guy was working he was funny always had me and my boyfriend laughing. I would stay here again. Nothing

The resort was fantastic! Not only the room was clean, spacious and cozy, but also all the facilities were top, including the chill area and the restaurant where we had dinner every evening. Delicious food, a bit pricey but at least you get the guarantee of not getting sick. Everything was fresh and cooked perfectly ? I really enjoyed interactions with the staff who apart from being funny and teaching us Swahili, did arrange an amazing tour after another company cancelled on us. Thanks to them we could swim with dolphins and snorkel and it was the best experience! Besides, the beach is at a walking distance from the hotel and it’s spectacular. Good value for the price we paid and the whole design of the resort was beautiful ✨ The smell in the room was questionable.

I absolutely loved this hotel. It was so restful and beautiful. The staff were really attentive and so friendly. The lady who made up our room every day did a particularly great job with decorating our room with flowers every single day. I would not hesitate to come back The road to the property is a little treacherous and so wouldn’t walk it at night in case I fell over

Very clean and nice rooms with a big balcony. The staff was very nice and helpful. They cleaned the room several times a day and made it ready for sleep at night. The location. I thought it was closer to the beach but you had to walk up a hill and over a busy road to go there. Also a lot of construction next to the hotel. It is also located in a very remote place in the island with not a lot to see close by and no restaurants.

The staff were the stars helpful and attentive. I had a scootet accident whilst there and the care and attention was humbling. The swimming pool is very small and to enter you go down a steep tiled ramp which was very slippery. Being asked to pay my restaurant/bar bill so often and in cash. Why could it not be paid at reception when I checked out by credit card.

Excellent care in the style of the rooms

There was a breakfast menu with different options. All of them including coffee, juice, fresh fruit and pancakes... plus a real meal. Chef Mo is a star. Also the girl coming every evening to set the mosquito net, the sweetest. All in all, the staff was beyond kind and helpful. Not a lot to do in the premises. Many power cuts and weak Wi-Fi. Swimming pool was nice but super slippery. Street not paved and quite steep.

The hotel is really beautiful !!! Greeted by a Masai at the gate, which is looked most of the time, the staff are all super nice and friendly, the cook sings a lot which made me smile every time I was around him. The room was clean and spatious, for one. I also had access to a balcony from where I was able to catch some sunsets. The hotel offers a menu for lunch or dinner ; for 18$ you can choose a starter, a main course and dessert (if I recollect correctly). I was able to use the pool, super clean, as well as the outdoor shower. From the hotel, 5 to 7 min to the beach. There’s also a mini supermarket, 10 min by foot. And last but not least, the manager was always there to help or only to greet you with a big smile.

The staff were super friendly and the bed was large & comfortable. I met the manager at check-in on my first day, however he never appeared again throughout my stay. The staff in the bar/kitchen work extremely hard however they do not have the basic tools & equipment to prepare, store & do meal prep. Several other guests expressed concern about the absent manager & his apparent lack of interest in guests experiences. This is VERY POOR on his part.

Raymond, the manager, and all his staff were exceptional. They were all so friendly and helpful. The house keeping staff were such a joy. Cannot praise them all enough. The breakfast, unfortunately over the 11 days got less and less.. we were getting 3 fruits at first, then down to two very small pieces, the choice with two eggs went down to one egg, and no coffee was offered at all over the 11 days. However we would go back due to the staff

The staff in this place is amazing! Especially Mohammed made me feel like home with his friendliness. Also Remo did a lot for me during my stay. Shoutout also to the cleaning ladies who even did my laundry and always greeted with a big smile! The hotel it self is charming, clean and equipped with everything you need for a relaxing stay. The location isn’t necessarily the best one as it’s not by the beach. And actually the Kiwengwa beach wasn’t even that nice beach out of the ones that I visited during my trip. However, you can take a taxi or boda boda to other places and explore the island from here. And it was always nice to come back to this little hidden garden after the adventures around the island.
