Wonderful buffet style breakfast and dinner. You can choose exactly what you want, which was perfect for us. Private baths available. Staff is very accommodating. It’s still a nice Japanese cultural experience in that most of the guests are domestic travelers. It’s an older resort. This is reflected in the indoor women’s bath and the restroom off the dining room which has squat toilets.

The food, baths, and staff were exceptional! It was my whole group’s first time coming to Japan and we wanted to start with Arima and stay at a traditional ryokan. Coming to this place after traveling 18+ hours on planes was like approaching an oasis. The baths were amazing. I have tattoos and tried all three of the private baths and wasn’t disappointed at all. They had all types of nice skin care that left me looking glowy and Dewey afterwards. Our group of 5 loved it and felt like we got every bang for our buck. Although how old the building is adds to its charm, it could use some cosmetic updates like new carpet and remodeled bathrooms. The futons could also be updated to newer and more fluffier/softer ones.

Great buffet breakfast and dinner A bit old and toilet was so small, hardly to close door. There were crushed stones in female Onsen at second floor, which hurt my feet.

Food is perfect and have a good hot springs. They have three locations indoors and outdoors. Nothing particularly

Very good variety of options for breakfast. Great hot spring options inside and outside.

The breakfast and dinner buffet had a nice variety of dishes, that where well prepared. The staff was exceptionally helpful for a non Japanese speaker. You wouldn't get this kind of service in the USA. The hotel itself is dated, like a grand dame of yester-years. Yet the room was comfortable, clean and traditional tatami style. The calming sound of the river can be heard everywhere, even in the "outdoor " onsen. The hotel is at the top of a hill, so be prepared to walk to get to Arima town. I would definitely recommend this place for a weekend get away to recharge. The room door lock is keyed, so don't lose it.

There is also private baths available for booking but they only let you use them for 45min and its quite expensive. Only 45 min for booked baths

As this was my first experience with Ryokans I'm unable to give some better insights or comparisons. When it comes to the experience, it was wonderful the different options of baths were great. Related to staff, top notch service with cordial and attentiveness to the costumer needs. In my honest opinion there wasn't any downsides.

It would be great if there is cold spring too ?

Good onsen experience . I like the Japanese style bed very much. It’s very comfortable.

Great onsen. Loved the Koi pond and bridge on the property. Loved the buffet.

We will definitely be back next year and experience with other relatives next time around. Nothing to think about.
-
I chose an old style tatami room, it was nice and comfortable. Skincare products are good quality. You can buy a sticker for your tattoo on the reception and enjoy the public onsens.

Amazing property in the mountains of Arima Onsen . Shuttle available to come to the property . We opted for walking to explore and it was a short 7 minute walk from the bus stop . Easy 50 minute trip from Osaka . Property is a dream hidden in misty mountains . The facilities offer an authentic Ryokan experience and the onsen here have been some of the best and with most variety I have been . The natural onsen by the river with the shrine was a dream special during our early fall rain in the morning . We booked 2 of the private baths .the wine and the cave and wow this was definitely a great destination to choose . The food options were very very good and fresh and offer us the opportunity to try authentic Kobe beef in the mountains of Hyogo . Definitely an experience worth repeating.the buffet options are very varied with foods from around the world but with the top quality as always in Nihon. The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating even though our limited Japanese . The room was also excellent we opted for the tatami room and the location next to the river invited to relax and disconnect from the world . Truly and amazing experience Everything was excellent
