Negiya Ryofukaku

This was my second stat and it was just exceptional. I brought my daughters this time and everything from the attentive staff to the magical Perch room (beautifully put together a library with tea and coffee) was just perfect. Our room even had a massage chair! WOW! Nothing

Beautiful building, very well maintained and also retro at same time, feels amazing.

Included the kaiseki dinner option with a note for no soy due to allergy. Food was made to meet this restriction without any problems and tried to match the soy version (miso soup to dashi based, tofu pudding to egg custard) with all being delicious. Every dish was explained clearly too. Onsen was very quiet and relaxing. Able to try both sides for different styles as the men's and women's switched during different hours. Incense was used throughout the ryokan and was a bit strong in a few places if you're sensitive to smell.

Beautiful, calm and relaxing ryokan experience. The staff did their best to make us feel comfortable and welcome throughout the stay. The onsen and overall atmosphere made this one of the highlights of our trip to Japan. They provide yukata that you can wear around the ryokan. We weren’t sure if it was okay to wear it to dinner, but that’s what everyone does ? It was also easy to reach by public transport. The only downside is that it’s a bit pricey

Everything - peaceful, great onsens and breakfast. I had a balcony area that was perfect. Easily one of the best places I’ve stayed in Japan. Easy to get around arima from here which is well worth exploring. Slippers. I had a hard time walking in them.

Stayed 2 nights here to explore Arima Onsen during sakura season. Cozy small ryokan in a very central location up a steep hill, walkable to town centre but they offer a free shuttle to and from town. Rooms are large with comfortable beds. Public onsens in ryokan are very nice especially the outdoor ones. Food is excellent for both breakfast and dinner kaiseki. Service is very good and they give advice on how to visit various sites. The Perch is a nice restful place where free tea and coffee is available.

The hotel is in a beautiful spot on the hillside. We had a room with an outdoor bath in a little bamboo grove that was absolutely beautiful. We greatly enjoyed the outdoor bath and the onsen facilities. Dinner was a multi-course meal that was both delicious and well presented. The staff we interacted with were all lovely. While not dirty, for the price, the room could have been cleaner (dusting, more in depth vacuuming, etc.)

Excellent location, beautiful onsen facility, felt like a real Japanese experience to me and the staff was so helpful. Fun wearing traditional garb to go to onsens. It was perfect, exactly what I expected.

A beautiful older but well kept ryokan. The staff is exceptionally helpful in any way . The breakfast blew us away. Every morning a different variety of savory delicacies. Enjoying at least once the six course dinner is highly recommended. Having to wear slippers within the facility is a tradition, but has the potential of being a trip hazard while having to carry suitcases up the stairs.

Nature Cleaness

Staff was super friendly and the nature around the property was pretty. The mountain side view rooms had a nice view and the room with its own outdoor bath had a nice garden to view. The rooms and the dining room really make it feel like a luxury onsen. Both onsens were also amazing.

Dinner was very rushed (first 3-4 courses were served in a hurry, which was a bit sad), Rooms and infrastructure feels dated (private onsen not reall worth it), Staff alternated between very friendly and rather distant / stressed-out

I was pleased that a yukata was provided and they had a special spot to relax, read or drink tea/coffee while enjoying a nice view. The spot was called the Perch. I unintentionally drifted off in a lounge chair after some time in the hot springs. For one night the price was excessive. However, I did have a private outdoor onsen. For a regular room it would have been 2/3 of the cost. Still costly but a highlight of my trip.

This Ryokan is located a bit far away from Kobe downtown (20km). Public baths and Onsen were the main reason for choosing it. We booked dinner and breakfast was included, both of which were delicious, with local food. The Ryokan best years have passed. Though it’s well maintained, a renovation/upgrade would be needed. As it’s located in the mountain, it takes a while to get there, with not many activities around. Over priced for what you get, even for the food (which by the way was delicious).

Beautiful location and traditional feel to the hotel. Really great design of the building and rooms. Staff are really helpful to foreigners. It’s close to all the hiking trails around Ariana.l too. Nothing.
