Onsen facilities included with the stay. Very unfriendly towards solo travelers in terms of accommodating dining needs. Bed linen was dirty but staff was very helpful in changing them despite the late hour.

Beautiful traditional stay with all the amenities. Close to downtown and to ropeway. Excellent traditional baths, dinner and breakfast. The most comfortable beds of our Japan travels!

Beautiful hotel tucked in the valley, close to town but far enough away to be peaceful. I’m an American and can only speak a little Japanese, but the staff was great and I had no problem communicating. Went on a few hikes close by and it was great to return and have a hot bath and sauna!

Very old school hotel with helpful, friendly staff and small rooms. Perfect for solo travelers. There are 3 onsen areas within the hotel, one of them has a small sauna area. Spa and other types of pools are available per reservation for a cost. The "cave" was a cool experience at night, soaking in the pool overlooking the forest and listening to all of its sounds was a great time. There's no point in mentioning cleanliness. In this price range it's a given, even if the hotel itself is quite old and shows signs of aging in some places. The bathroom was very small, but it's to be expected for the room size so not a complaint.

The staff was absolutely amazing. The hostess did her best to explain our meals and answer our questions, as did the reception staff. There was a sense of ceremony in how our meals were served. They were especially careful when helping us with taxis and with our luggage delivery, spending a lot of time and effort to ensure our luggage would get to our next destination, including calling our next host for us. Amenities-wise, there was no need to bring our own towels or toiletries. Their soap, skin care, and even combs were nice. Location-wise, there were a lot of local shops just down the street. A great stay!

The staff tried hard but could not communicate well with us. The onsens are old and limited. The meals were not good.

Everyone was super welcoming and explained to us everything as this is our first time visiting Japan. The room was clean, comfortable and relaxing! Definitely will stay here again and for longer!
