    Nothing. Everything was great!

You get what you pay for so I think the property it’s quite acceptable. The location is convenient (15min walk from Gaya street food market). Very very basic breakfast is included (which I didn’t try btw) but at least you can have bread with some jam and coffee, rice and noodles. They need to mention that the room (at least the one I stayed in has no windows). Take into consideration that there’s no lift in case you are bringing a lot of luggage. For me it wasn’t an issue because I was using a backpack. Toilet could be improved (a bit untidy). Also have in mind that you need to take off your shoes to enter the property (they should mention that as well). Some cultures/people are not used to that so it could be a decision maker for them.

The location was great, the beds are comfortable. Free water refill and coffee The bathrooms were really dirty. The common room were really close from the dormitory and we could clearly hear people talking till 3am. The staff was not super friendly

First of all to respond to your lied I will clear the air. Unfortunately I booked two nights, and the day after another two nights before I arrived. I will never book 4 nights if I saw the place. After two nights I will have ran away on a heart beat. I was so mad at me too book 4 nights. I looked at the pictures and it look good. The place doesn’t look like the pictures at all. The guy who is dress as a woman( I have nothing against that I find him nice and cool) but he was the one screaming and laughing at 7:00 in the morning. He told me he/she works for you and I saw him behind your desk. The breakfast is about three feet from the sink where people brush their teeth and spit. I barely eat breakfast because the kitchen was very dirty with very very bad smell as the toilet. The amoniac smell damages my lungs. I had to go to see the doctor at Sandakan and he puts me on antibiotics. I can’t stop caughing when I left your place. . I explain the situation and he told me strong cats pee, if you breath it, can irritate your lungs. It is exactly what’s happened to me. Everything, I said was true. Read the reviews. Everybody is complaining about the locals half naked not only me. I can’t believe that you said they can walk naked if they wanted. Big lack of respect for your guests. Unfortunately, I didn’t read the reviews before I booked your place. Lesson learn.

Location was good First of all they don’t gave me the room I booked. They put me in a room with rude locals. You can’t rent something that terrible. My room smell ammoniac. It was cats urine or pesticides smell against the bed bug. They have 3 cats in the hostel who pee on the floor. I barely sleep. The strong smell gave me headache, cough and I had to sleep with a mask on, if I wanted to breath. My lungs suffer big deal. Can’t believe that they rent such a dirty place and smelly place. I don’t know why they have so much cats. Maybe because someone said in a review that there is a rat in the kitchen. They also smoke inside the hostel and the smell got in my room. The green carpet at the entrance is black with cat urine smell. Also it is full of locals who are very noisy and walk half naked all the time. I wanted to go to the bathroom and a local was there with only a towel on him and was peeing the door wide open. Disgusting. They put local in my bedroom who was in and out and put the light on at anytime without respect. The staff were lauging and screaming at 7 o’clock in the morning. The wall are so thin we hear everything in the room from the kitchen and living room. Common areas are so crowded. It is too small. Two bathrooms only for the whole place. The place is not clean. Bathroom sink are basically in the kitchen. You eat breakfast and people are brushing their teeth ,spitting and shaving while you eat. Disgusting. The pillows and bed are very uncomfortable. Kitchen very dirty and didn’t smell good because they never change the kitchen bag for ages.

And there is kitchen for cooking, there is hanger for my wet clothes, there is fridge to put your food, there is breakfast in which they menu changed everyday. There is curtain for some privacy. The staff called auntie, is very friendly and helpful. Nothin much. But maybe they can considered to add soap and shampoo. And I also did not get blanket while the air conditioner was set quite cold.

design is okay Bad Bed BUGS!

The location is quite nice, close to a mall, where you find anything you need and all the places, like bus stops or ferry terminal are in walking distance. I liked that there were vegetarian options for the breakfast. The room itself was okay, bed okay, light ok, electricity and AC worked. I have a bunch of points that I didn't like. The room assigned to me was right behind the breakfast tray. So at 6.30ish everything was loud as there's something like a window between room and breakfast tray. So it's loud, and the smell goes into your room. Then, when you get up at 8.30 or so, almost no breakfast is left, since they don't put more food on it once it's gone. A couple of cats live in the hostel, which is ok, but their trash, like sand and their poop in the sand stays there and it seems no one cleans it up. Needs to be done daily. Poor kitties. Also the showers and toilet are terrible. Needed to ask for toilet paper.

    None

No lockers! The common area is small and unbearably hot. I guess it is because the ACs hot air goes through the common area. The dorm rooms are tiny and god only for sleeping. The wifi broke the night I stayed there. Despite their best intent, the staff are not knowledgeable to help you plan the rest of your itinerary. The privacy curtain in the bed didn't close completely, defeating its purpose.

  • Engine customer Aug 2024

My room mate really noisy, speaking in phone with high voice. What really bad is watching video on phone with high volume in early morning. Maybe you can write a notice in the room to remind guest to respect other guest in the room

  • Engine customer Jul 2024

My bed was clean and I slept good. So overall it was ok

Location, location, location. Delicious free breakfast. Friendly staff. Home away from home Walking stairs to 3rd floor

  • Engine customer May 2024

Beds do have curtains, a shelf, socket and a light. You don't get a room key so bedrooms are unlocked. Small lockers are provided in hallway. The pillows are really bad.

Great place to stay in KK, excellent value for money in Borneo! Breakfast was amazing, and different everyday (noodles and toasts on day 1, rice, pancakes ❤️, and toasts on day 2) Bed was comfy with privacy curtains, a light and an outlet, AC was working well, there is space to hang your towel and clothes, and the room was big Nice common area (though a bit small maybe, but you do what you can with the space you have) Toilets were separate from the showers (rare in Asia, so that was really nice!) The owner was super nice, friendly and helpful! I missed my bus so I arrived a day later and I was able to change the days of my booking even though it was non refundable, so thank you so much for that!! The light in my bed wasn’t working well (really really low intensity) Didn’t get hot water in the shower (but it was still warmish and it was hot enough in KK so that wasn’t much of a problem) Our room was just next to the common area so if people are noisy that could be annoying (but wasn’t a problem for me as I went to sleep late and woke up early so it was always quiet when I was sleeping)
