The rooms needed a little maintenance

Wonderful staff, specially Simbo. We received an upgrade because the A/C wasn’t working properly in the room we had booked. The new room was large, clean, and comfortable, particularly the king-size bed. The lighting was good. The bathroom had a large stone shower with plenty of hot water. It was clean. Internet service was adequate. The breakfast was plain but good: eggs, fresh fruits, noodles, french toasts, cereals, coffee and juice. The facility has a large, clean, and beautiful pool in a secluded garden area in the back of the property. It has lounge chairs „cabanas“, and a few umbrellas. The location is on the main street in town. It is surrounded by cafés, restaurants, and shops. Despite this central location, the property is surprisingly quiet and the rooms are tucked away in garden spaces with statues and fountains. Overall, despite showing some signs of age, we felt that the place was very pleasant and an excellent value. Again the staff helpfulness and quick response to our needs made our stay a very good one. Maybe providing tissues and cups in the bathroom. Although those would probably have been brought if we had asked.

Peaceful and scenic location near the beach and the downtown area! The pool and views are special. Vegan options for a tasty buffet breakfast! Get the larger rooms near the pool!! Staff is so friendly and helpful!!

I loved the staff. They were super helpful. The hotel was a perfect mix where you could be social with the other guests or just do your own thing. It was very central location, so much so we walked everywhere the first day. Will recommend it to others for sure!

Great location- in the middle of it all, but rooms are set back in the grounds so it's super quiet. Staff are amazingly friendly and helpful and the pool area is a great place to chill. Air con in the room wasn't very powerful

The room and location Quite

The pool was lovely. We stayed in a villa overlooking the pool which was very nice. The a/c was strong in the sleeping area which was great. The breakfast buffet was wonderful lots of variety!! Coffee, tea, and water available all day. I would stay here again. The staff was very caring and helpful!! It would have been nice to have a hand towel in the bathroom. We also would have appreciated a spare roll of toilet paper. Pool towels would have been a real bonus.

Perfect location and yet so calm

Everything was wonderful. Really lovely and quaint. It was wild how close you are to the craziness of everything in town but it was so quiet at night. The breakfast is soooo good, and sometimes you get dinners or lunches as well that were truly the best meals I had while in Kuta! The staff was so lovely and incredible. They always said hello and were so kind and attentive. It is really a beautiful place and felt like my home away from home. As a woman who was traveling alone, I felt very safe and comfortable, and I highly recommend to anyone who is looking for a place to stay in Kuta. Sometimes the wifi would pop in and out while I was trying to get work done but it was pretty rare that would happen honestly! And I could’ve left my room and gone to a cafe or something but I was being lazy haha

Nothing besides nice and kind staff, but this is a golden standard all around this beautiful country This place is simply cheating on pictures as they are FAR from reality. Don't even know where to begin with but the place is simply dirty (surprisingly besides the bed which enabled staying at least that 1 night out of 4 booked). Not to say gross. Pictures say it all. The place is old but it doesn't mean it cannot be well taken care of, but it's not. The pool is impossible to use as the water is dirty. The garden furniture is old and dirty too, all the mattresses are sticky and stained. Simply impossible to believe in today's world and competition level, especially in Asia. Even the door is not safe using a simple padlock. Last but not least. The 'breakfast'. Difficult to touch... the food itself looked reasonable besides little choice and simplicity, but all the cutlery was DIRTY AND STICKY, placed in a RUSTY box. Impossible again... Left after 1 night, at the reception they didn't even ask why, not interested at all. Just said to do it through Booking and that's it. AND THEN... they rejected our claim which makes all that ridiculous, a refund would be fair to say the least. This way they charged us full 4 nights even though we stayed one. I hope Booking does justice here as the Matahari Inn are simply thieves. Sorry for people working there as they were really kind, but this place is managed in a terrible way.

The location is great in terms of being so close to shops, restaurants and the beach, but at night time you will hear various music from the bars and other venues late at night. Though as a light sleeper I didn't find it very bothersome. Earplugs might be needed for some though.

Lovely staff , fantastic pool , set back from main road but if you want to be in the heart of Kuta, this is a good place to stay .

The location is wonderful! I also loved how the land area is huge - it keeps you away from the centre noise. The staff are all nice and helpful.

The bed is super comfortable. Some of the best bed I ever sleep on. Staff is very friendly and helpful, and the hotel provide transportation to airport at IDR150,000. They have gym and pool equipment. Location is excellent as there are many stores and restaurants nearby. The water pressure at the hotel is very low. Need to take longer shower to clean off all the soap and shampoo. The shower head hose holder can fall out pretty easily. The room look a bit old, and the key could get stuck at the keyhole. In addition, the speed of the Wi-Fi provided by the hotel is very slow.
