Hotel Gion Ichirin

This hotel felt luxurious and I was so very comfortable! So many things are included, like morning croissants, soft drinks, happy hour, and even laundry. The bed was heavenly, and the bathtub was a treat. The staff are so very kind and go out of their way to make you feel welcome. It feels like a 5-star hotel for certain!

This hotel feels very luxurious and high end, with large, comfortable beds and a very high quality shower. From the moment you walk in, you’re swept away into a comfortable oasis. I wish I could’ve stayed here longer to have one full day to relax in the hotel itself. The staff went out of their way to accommodate me during my stay, and I couldn’t be more thankful for their hospitality. The staff displayed exceptional professionalism. I highly recommend you enjoy the free drinks in the lounge in the afternoon and take advantage of the private spa while you stay. In a busy city like Kyoto, this hotel felt like the calm I needed. I appreciate that there is a small pastry and coffee service offered by the hotel for breakfast, but I do wish there was something more substantial as an option. When I recall booking the hotel, there were photographs of a more traditional style breakfast present, and to this day there is a tab on their website stating that breakfast would be brought to our room to enjoy each morning, but that was not an option during my stay. All in all though, I’d still highly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Kyoto!!

The room was phenomenal along with the staff. Room was clean and stocked. Easily accessible in the city of Kyoto. Excited to return in the future. Nothing all of it was great! Couldn’t ask for more. Would absolutely recommend to friends and family and would love to go again. Overall, no notes.

We loved Hotel Gion Ichirin! The historic details but modern touch made for a memorable stay. The fact that it was also in a prime location in the Gion area was fantastic. We appreciated being in close proximity to all the action but still able to find solace and quiet when needed. It is a quick walk to all the major shopping, food, and historic areas. The massage chair in our room was put to use daily! The staff were all so great and welcomed us! Highly recommend as your option in Kyoto. N/A

How anyone can have anything even remotely negative to say about this place is beyond me. The most amazing hotel in the most amazing location with the most amazing people. Gorgeous, clean, spacious, with a rooftop private onsen?! Are you kidding me? I loved EVERYTHING about this place. If ever i should return to Kyoto I will be coming back to this amazing place. If i had to make one critique, its that closet space is a little lacking. But thats really it. Everything else was amazing!

This hotel exceeded all of our expectations. The room was beautiful and every attention to detail was made. Hotel staff are excellent and very attentive. We felt absolutely pampered and we were so happy with our experience, we extended our stay in Kyoto. I highly recommend the Hotel Gion Ichirin!

The hotel’s ambiance was amazing. Felt like a mix between the traditional and modern. We rented time at the spa and it was above and beyond anything we could have imagined. The hotel staff were extremely helpful and doubly so when we used their service to transfer our bags to our next hotel in Osaka.

The rooms with a little antique room to drop your shoes off and put your coats in and such. We’re so wonderful. The hotel entrance has a true Japanese feeling to it. No breakfast. This made it kind of hard.

Excellent location. Staff was very helpful and assisted in trying to find restaurants and reservations. would definitely return.

Absolutely beautiful property, impeccably appointed. Little touches everywhere. Comfortable beds. Outstanding huge bath with jets and shower with strong water pressure, rain shower head, foot wash, and handheld. Wonderful toiletries from L’Occitane. Massage chair was awesome!!! Rooms are found proof. Peaceful lobby with water fall. Complimentary snacks, cappuccino machine, juices, and local drinks. Chocolate croissants in the morning! Fridge and microwave. We were greeted with so much care and respect. Really outstanding. Possibly the best stay I’ve ever had. Just WOW. Honestly, nothing. Every little element was perfection.
