Great vibe. Collaborating team. Very friendly It had a good location and nice restaurants in the area. Free coffee - good machine.

Unfortunately we were only here for one night but it met, if not exceeded, all of our expectations. We had a family room for the six of us and we all slept soundly on our futons. Shower room and bathroom were great. Staff was tremendous. Tough to beat the location for anyone arriving/departing via train as Kyoto Station is a short walk away. When we return to Kyoto we will definitely stay at Hotel Imagine again. Nothing.

The location was perfect; just a short walk from Kyoto Station while still feeling quiet and uncrowded. The rooftop was a favorite spot for our kids, and the staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and helpful throughout our stay. We also loved that the hotel offered cultural experiences like matcha making and Japanese lessons, and we hope to participate next time. Overall, it was a wonderful place to stay, and we’d happily come back. Nothing, it was 10/10.

None, all was amazing.

I’m so glad we booked this hotel. Super close to two different convenient stores and Kyoto Station. The room was large with two twin beds and our kids were comfortable sleeping on futon mattresses on top of the tatami flooring. The front desk staff were all super friendly and spoke exceptional English. Great location for families, they had laundry facilities, games and a lounge area in the lobby and coffee in the morning. The roof space was fabulous but always occupied!

Location was fantastic. The shower was terrific. Staff were extremely friendly and communicated very well. Mattresses weren’t especially soft but we were still able to sleep well on them. The multiple levels in the room didn’t add much and just felt irritating. Didn’t like the Japanese style chairs on the ground and really just wanted someplace to sit.

It was a wonderful hotel for our family. Perfectly styled with a mix between traditional and modern. The room was spacious, quiet and futon bedding made for the most comfortable sleep during our entire Japan holiday. The shared kitchen area had everything needed, clean and stocked with tea and a coffee machine. Our family enjoyed the games and kid's corner as well as the rooftop chillout area in the evening. The washing machine & dryer was also so convenient and only cost us ¥300 for a full load. Kyoto station, Avanti and Aeon malls close by within minutes by foot was an advantage (not so much for our luggage space)! The deciding factor for us wanting to return again was the welcoming staff. Special mention to Lara and also Axe who looked after us and gave some great local recommendations including TeamLab Biovortex within easy walking distance. Thanks so much -- 5/5 stars! They've really thought of all the details, nothing we didn't like.

We were very satisfied with our stay. The room had a traditional Japanese house style and was spacious enough, especially compared to the hotels we stayed at in Tokyo and Osaka. The staff were friendly and very helpful. The only downside was the lack of a breakfast option.
-
Friendly and knowledgeable staff, very convenient location. Only thing that comes to mind is the futon pads could be thicker.
-
The staff was super friendly and really helpful … Location is close to the Kyoto station The common room downstairs is a big plus if you are staying with kids . None

We really enjoyed the Japanese lesson and matcha tea class offered by the hotel (there was a poster advertising this as an extra for 2000 yen, although I wasn't sure if it was per family or per person - it would be expensive if per person given our size family). We were lucky to be given a freebie to test it out and the two staff members who did this with us were great and answered all our questions. It was a valuable learning experience and now we are all matcha lovers! It was nice to have the communal kitchen and eating areas so we could chat with other travellers and staff. The kids loved all the toys and games available too. Roof top space was cool and the free coffee machine was appreciated. It was a fabulous place to stay, we will stay again when we come to Kyoto! Very happy with everything.

Amazing staff and property! Close to station and everyone was kind helpful and welcoming. Really nice stay in Kyoto , wish we would have stayed longer.

Location location location. The hotel is in perfect location. Walkable from station. The vibe and rooms are amazing. Well maintained, spacious rooms. Excellent customer service. Nothing

Great value! Very spacious room!

Recommendations for dinner were more "miss" than "hit" but Kyoto offers an abundance of great food and we always figured it out.

We loved everything about this property! The location was very close to the train station. The staff was very nice nice and helpful. There was a full kitchen in the lobby with free coffee and tea which was a great perk. The room was very large, clean and comfortable. We can’t wait to come back! Nothing, we loved the property!
-
amazing place, loved everything and the staff was really nice nothing to complain about, with four people you do need to have two people at least use futons but if you enjoy futons like me it’s perfectly fine. it would be nice if we all had our own beds but it’s not the end of the world.

This place was beautiful! The team accommodated an early checkin for us. The room was clean, big, and renovated. We loved our stay! The staff was so nice and welcoming as well. N/A

Gorgeous room, the biggest we stayed in in Tokyo and so comfortable, top notch! Loved the yukata and extra comforts of the hotel with the facilities in the main area. Very kid friendly. Great design touches all around. The location wasn’t the best for exploring Kyoto, but very convenient to the main train station, so worked well for day trips. Otherwise we used taxis more than we usually would.
