The shower was great! All good.

Great location!! Bus stop and subway entrance was close, really great if you’re using those as your main transportation. Room: Plenty of space for a hotel in Japan. Really good for two people. And the shower… so relaxing !! The floor room wasn’t totally clean, nothing crazy, but noticeable.

Loved the proximity to the river and having access to the bikes! Clean room and very practical for our stay in Kyoto. Dryer in laundry room struggled to dry clothes.

I was very happy with my stay at Kyoto Earth hotel! The location was very near to the Kyoto Imperial Palace and many other interesting destinations!

Although the staff is usually not at the counter, they are very helpful to sort the things out via phone.

Property is in a great location, little quieter neighborhood and much more lowkey.

The location is really convenient, with a great katsudon restaurant and a minimart nearby. The hotel feels new and well maintained. I especially loved the bathroom since it had the biggest shower I have ever seen in Japan. There honestly was nothing I didn’t like about this hotel. Everything was comfortable and smooth, and I felt very satisfied with my stay. If I have to pick something, it can gets cold during the night.

No time to see what didn't like

The room was spacious, with a small couch, table, and some snacks waiting for us on arrival, which was much appreciated! There's a microwave and coffee machine downstairs for shared use, and they have bikes you can borrow for free from them if you let them know the date in advance. I definitely recommend, as cruising the riverside by bike was fantastic! The staff is only around during the day, which we didn't mind, as we didn't have many questions. With that being said, you can also just message them if something comes up.

One of the Room key card didn't work initially. The staff worked really hard to make it work. Carpet needs deep cleaning.

This was in a very good location and not far from the Imperial Palace and close to the river that runs through Kyoto. There’s also a grocery store close by to get cheap drinks/food “Fresco”. There’s also a local ramen restaurant that I loved that I went back “3” times before leaving “Ramen Daiei”. The room was not clean and had dust along the walls and floor and on the shelf by the safe. The chair/couch looked out dated and not clean. The mattress was hard like I was sleeping on the floor. The shower drain wasn’t cleaned and had black mold and hair. Also there’s nothing blocking the window in the shower. So people across the street can look at you when setting on the toilet or when showering. Wish they had bicycles to rent

Location was just outside of the city center. But it was OK since bus transportation was good. The river was closeby, local restaurants were nearby, Fresco was just next door to buy food and stuff. Staff was not visible. Entering the hotel was a challenge since the main door was locked, my phone for international call did not work. Eventually, WhatsApp was the way to communicate with the staff/manager. This was not found by me at the front gate. I asked a local people to help me to successfully make the first contact with the manager. Then everything was OK.

The location was central and the stay was great! Nothing!

I booked a one person bedroom, and the size is okay. Not too small, not too big, which is good for a few days. The bathroom is quite big which useful ? The bathroom and bed were clean, no weird smell on the bedsheets ? There’s a small balcony, AC and a mini fridge. It is located near Sanjo station, 16min walkay. There are bus stations, a bio store, family mart and a café. It’s well located, I didn’t have big issues during my stay. It’s a self Checkin and checkout hotel, it works like airbnbs. Room cards are retrieved through locked boxes and cards just need to be put in a box for checkout. The only downside of this hotel is the lack of presence of the staff at the entrance, but they can be reached via booking chatroom, whatsapp or phone. I think their absence justifies the price of the hotel rooms ? So overall, I’d highly recommend this hotel but if you have many luggage, it’s better to take a bus or taxi to arrive to the hotel because it’s quite a walk from the subway station ? After arriving, it was a bit complicated to unlock the door of the hotel room which was stressful. I contacted the staff through Booking and they called right away to help which is very helpful :) The system is very secure but a bit tricky at first!
