The Chapter Kyoto, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel by Marriott

Very nice rooms and facilities! Lots of amenities in room! Loved the pjs! Bar/lounge area was wonderful! Staff was friendly and helpful!

The staff were lovely, the onsen was generous sized and well equipped. The location was good, and everything was clean. The rooms are very dark and the windows are frosted so you can’t see outside.

Amazing experience from the lobby smelling like a million dollars to the room decor (and pajama quality) to the "bath" and of course the super helpful staff Everything was great

Very bad front desk service. Paid a fortune for the hotel and they asked me to pay additional for breakfast which had been already paid for. It took a while until they realised the booking originally had included breakfast. Then they told me breakfast was until 11 am but when I arrived at 10:30 they said last order had been at 10 am. So—no breakfast for an exorbitant price. No smile, no apology. In the end they came up with a bag of banana and dry bread. Disappointing.

Location was perfect. Amenities were great. The entire Staff were terrific! Thank you! No complaints at all!

Location! Value for the price. Comfortable bed. Attentive and helpful staff. They promptly shipped my husband’s wallet that he left inside the safe to the airport and we were able to get it with no problems! Dryer in laundry area took forever. Had to repeat and pay almost 4x before clothes could be adequately dried.

The hotel is very good, it has a fitness room, comfortable beds and the rooms are relatively large (for Japanese standards). The staff speak English very well and were always friendly, courteous and helpful. I would especially like to highlight the breakfast buffet, which is large and includes delicious Japanese and Western specialties as well as various fruits, breads, vegetables, etc. The location is more or less central. The price/performance ratio seems rather mediocre to me. Even if it is indeed a very good hotel... Rather too expensive for Japan.

Well located and well organized. Great to have the option of a triple. Coin laundry and free coffee a plus. Easy to park and arrive. Very central.

Most comfortable beds! The distance from things and stations was kinda far.

Overall, hotel location is good as it's just a short distance to the shopping district and proximity to convenience stores and bus stops. Gym was clean and enjoyable. I wouldn't recommend opting for breakfast unless it's complementary. Felt that the variety provided was limited and quite pricey.

Close to restaurants aswell as central to train services. There is a shopping arcade approx 15-20 min walk. Shopping here is a must including great little Japanese restaurants amongst your shopping experience. We spent hours here! Breakfast was more Japanese inspired then western
