Good location. The big rooms are big (27 ms) which is great We returned to the same hotel after few years The single room was stale and I had to move 3 rooms to find one without smoke scent
-
Nice rooms. Nice location. WiFi problems. Bad shower.
-
The location is away from noisy and crowded areas but it still very convenient to get around employee’s English conversation skills
-
Great breakfast, very comfortable beds, wonderful views. The two things that stood most were (1) the subway in the basement which made it super convenient to get around, and (2) the location which was just a block away from the super tourist-impacted part of Kyoto - so close enough to be a tourist but easy to step away from the crowds. N/A

We loved everything about the hotel. We arrived to a free room upgrade before we our room, without even asking them for it. The view was phenomenal, and location was exceptional. Right across the street from countless restaurants and shops and saved so much money on travel alone. The amenities and room were phenomenal and it was our favorite stay of our trip, and we wished we had stayed longer.

Clean, spacious, nice location. Furniture is a bit old

Wonderful in every way, especially for a long stay. Expectation was high when booked, but actual experience exceeded expectations. Most exceptional. . .SERVICE with smiles and willingness to help. Rooms book quickly so BOOK EARLY. Liked everything about staying at Okura was SUPERIOR. What I didn't like was not a fault of the hotel, but transportation around the city required use of taxi most of the time. Taxi was expensive.

Excellent location! I was also very surprised with how nice the hotel is. It genuinely feels like a 5 star hotel and the pictures don’t do it justice.

Everything here is perfect. I couldn’t be more happy. We are planning another trip back in November and this hotel is our only choice We liked everything

We were happily surprised to finally able to get the eastern view on the standard room rate. We always love their fantastic breakfast. Can't think of a thing.

The family rooms were spacious, all they replenished the bathroom amenities regularly. I will tell you that from the moment we came in, we found the staff overall were very distant and not welcoming. There was a few exceptions like the restaurant concierge. However – at the price point that we were paying, I found that they could’ve been more welcoming. Also – the pool is not available to kids under 12, the restaurant upstairs was crowded at the first thing in the morning.

Need to change the carpets.

Mostly the staff and location
-
It was great that the hotel connected to the subway without having to go outside. Perfect since it was raining when we were there!! Additionally, we arrived early and the staff was very helpful. Also, we contacted the hotel ahead of our stay via email with a couple questions, and they were very communicative and helpful over email!
-
Location, its taste of elegance, convenient, great staff and good bed. Nothing.
-
Which I normally wouldn’t expect but I stayed there for the concierge assistance and sauna. They didn’t care. Also the room service food was inedible.

I enjoyed the western-style breakfast buffet each morning with a lovely view. The buffet included classics like pancakes, fruit but also white rice, dumplings, miso soup, and soba noodles. The location is convenient and safe-a 5 minute walk from the shops and restaurants but quiet in the evenings. In the bottom floor, there are a bunch of shops and restaurants with a direct entrance to the Kyoto Shiyakusho-mae station. My room wasn't fancy, but it was comfy. It had a good view, a big bathtub, and overall felt clean. I'm a little mixed on the fitness center facilities-the gym was small and didn't have a lot of equipment. There was an extra fee for every visit, which was worth it for me only because I was using the sauna/hot tub also while there. Just something worth knowing for someone who wants to workout every day.
