The laundry 1 doesn’t work

A nice little hotel. Great amenities. 7/11 across the road and drugstore 4 minutes walk away. Nice little coffee spots around the area. Breakfast a bit pricey for the tiny selection. I suggest looking at cafes within the area. It’s far from main tourist strip and have to use cabs for ease of transport (15 minutes) But still worth the money

Upon Arrival, staff were quick to help, keeping our bags until the check in time. They were suite supportive and provided sufficient explanation for the use of the on site onsen. The room was great with comfortable beds and duvees, a sofa as well and ofcourse a tv. The hotel has a laundry room which is coin operated and this is connected with the tv so you can check on the status from the comfort of your room. The onsen is delightful with a nice shower area followed by the onsen bath. Connecting to the tv to stream things from our personal devices would not work after following the instructions, It would be nice if a quicker method is identified and installed. It was so frustrating we gave up. Also we started drying our clothes at 2 and couldn't get them dry by 6 am. Not all the washer dryers were working as intended.

The amenities, the cleanliness, the comfort and the size of the room. The whole hotel had 3 washer/dryers to be used. One of them was already defective, which made doing laundry somewhat difficult.

We chose the La'gent Hotel Kyoto Nijo as its location suited us being convenient for visiting the Bamboo Forest, the Kinkaku-ji (Golden) Temple and Nijo Castle . The hotel was modern and well appointed and the staff were both friendly and helpful. The breakfast was very good and included a wide selection of Japanese and Western food. The hotel itself was excellent, however the area around the hotel was lacking in Craft Beer/Micro-Brewery Bars, other than the most excellent Madobe (Belgian Beer) Bar which was 15-20 minutes walk away, and is thoroughly recommended.

We had a very comfortable stay. The breakfast was good, and the location was very convenient, with a bus stop just 100 meters away and the train station also nearby. Overall, it offered great value for money.

The staff was not very helpful. I wanted to transfer my luggage to my next hotel and I went a few days ahead to ask about it and they simply pointed to there sign and said “do it yourself”. So we tried to fill in the info and do it myself but my hotel address was not listed. So I went a second time to ask for help and they essentially said same thing again to do it myself but I told them my issue and they reluctantly helped me in the end.

The room was nice At check out I forgot a bath key card in the room. Although I have an infant with me the staff asked me to go up to take it from the room without any consideration using the words “please go to take it from your room”. It really spoiled the whole experience.

Good location and friendly staff. The breadfast is a buffet and have a lot of choices.

Rooms were a comfortable size with areas for luggage, a fridge and separate toilet. A window that could open was nice for some fresh air. Rooms were very clean and new with good pillows and beds. Lots of toiletries to use in the lobby but just soap and shampoo in the rooms. Vending machines, water and complimentary tea and coffee in the lobby was a welcome addition. The public onsen was clean and a good temperature. Good location to the 7/11 across the street and the 46 city bus stop. Walking distance to Nijo station . We arrived an hour before checkin and even though we were told our rooms were ready they wanted to charge us Y1100 each to have early access. We decided to leave our luggage and go for a walk instead. Felt that was unnecessary addition when we had booked 2 rooms for 2 nights.

Very nice breakfast and attentive staff. Near an excellent bus stop. Extra "stuff" was conveniently available, as was coffee, downstairs. They even hosted a tea ceremony there in the lobby! We will be back. Price of breakfast if not part of room rate is rather high.

Onsen was very good

Hotel room was spacious and very clean. Lots of great places to eat right next to the hotel! They provide a lot of things such as bath towels and tooth brushes. Facility is very well kept! Staff is friendly. Comfortable and location is great. We couldn’t use the public bath but we understood because of our tattoos. We respect that I just didn’t know this before booking. We were out 90% of the day so really we wouldn’t have had time to use it anyways! Still wonderful.

Nothing In the middle of no where, front desk staff very lazy, rooms are tiny making it hard to walk around with luggage.

We chose not to eat breakfast at the hotel. It was 2,200 yen buffet per person. We bought ready made food, baked items and drinks at a nearby supermarket which is only 5 minutes from the hotel. There's also a bakery that makes a fresh baked bread around the corner. There's a large public bath: one for women, one for men. It was clean and really big. It opens until 25:00 which is 1:00 am They allowed us to leave our several luggages after our check out so that we could do our sight seeings.
